El Cerrito Mexican Restaurant & Grill — Restaurant in Florida

Let me tell you friends, good Mexican food is HARD to find - especially in Pasco County, FL. If you love Mexican food and you live here too then I am sure you can relate. I tried Los Magueyes and thought they were going to be the best available out here - but then... I found El Cerrito! They just opened a location near me so I reluctantly tried them. Well... AMAZING!! I'm so excited to have excellent Mexican food close by. I have eaten there multiple times now and I haven't put a single bite of food in my mouth that wasn't delicious! I would order any of the things I have eaten there again happily but - my very favorite are the carnitas tacos! They are served with all the things needed to be very authentic- the cilantro and onions, the lime and a spicy sauce that I dab on the meat in each taco before I eat it. They are the best carnitas tacos I have EVER had!! My husband loves the Burrito Calzonete a 10 inch long monster with everything but the kitchen sink in it, topped with a melty cheese sauce and grilled shrimp! Delicious! My sister adores the El pastor tacos too! They have very fresh and delicious guacamole! They have incredible flan and churros. They have delicious cocktails as well!! Their service is incredible (especially the lovely Cathy 😍) All in all, I firmly believe that El Cerrito is going to fast become THE go-to Mexican restaurant for the whole area so get over there before the word is out and the lines waiting outside to be seated happen! I will be sure to try not to be so excited that I tear into the food before I get pics next time lol! I'll see y'all...

If you're planning on having a great Mexican dinner out with the family, do yourself a favor and make the drive to Carmelita's in New Port Richey. El Cerrito is not the dining experience you want. We arrived around 4pm and the dining room was not busy at all, maybe 4 tables had guests. We waited, and waited for the host to finally recognize our existence as we waited a good deal of time at the hostess table. We were finally seated and even though our server passed us several times, it took another eternity for her to stop by our table and grab our drink orders. The menu is large and we decided to grab some house specialties. I had the enchiladas and my wife had the aroze Texano with veggies. After the server made several attempts to touch our 1 year old, even tried to pick him up, even after we motioned to her to stop, our food arrived. The enchiladas were nothing to scream about and the Texas rice had no flavor and was missing the veggies. My wife asked about the veggies and two servers had to come by to observe and confirm that there were in fact no veggies delivered. Very little attention was given to the table and drink refills were lost with the veggies. Finally the veggies arrive, I'm guessing they flew them in straight from Mexico on a plate that needed a glove to carry placed 6 inches in front of my 1 year olds face. I had thoughts of dining at this restaurant tonight, so I went online and looked at their menu and their prices and made my decision on what I was going to have for dinner when I got there, I didn't think they even look at the menu at the restaurant because I'd already looked at the menu online on their website, when the dinner was over and I went to pay, the pricing was completely different and I mentioned something about it and said you know the prices on the website doesn't match. Apparently the prices in your menu at the store and the lady at the checkout said yeah they're old prices. Sorry we haven't updated our website in a while, and pretty much gave me a hate it for you buddy attitude, I don't think that's good business practice to post your prices online on your website and then have different prices when you get into the restaurant and then just have a BS kind of attitude about it. No apologies or nothing, that'll be the last time that I dine at this establishment , Mexican restaurants are popping up pretty much on every corner so there's plenty of options in this area which I will be exploring now, if you don't have time to keep your websites updated with your current pricing, then you don't have time for me so, beware of this restaurant and their...
