Husband, daughter and I stopped in on a whim. So glad we did! I had no idea what a ‘poke’ bowl was. I was nervous to say the least. I pulled up the online menu to take a look, it’s easier for me to make a decision that a way. I go through the process of ‘ordering online’ to get it right in my head. I don’t eat any seafood of any kind so I was worried I wouldn’t find much to fill my bowl. Boy was I wrong. My husband ordered first. Then my daughter. They were in the process of making a fresh batch of sushi rice (for those who don’t know I had to ask my husband, this is just sticky white rice) so they apologized profusely and offered a coffee or latte to my daughter and I for the inconvenience on the house. (YES! They have a beverage center!) I wasn’t concerned and was happy to pay for a latte while we waited, CAFFEINE, YES PLEASE. It was tasted great and we were very happy with it. Daughter finished up her order once fresh sushi rice was done. She chose the house sauce as a finisher. Ask them for it, seems like it’s a great idea if you like that sort of thing! I ordered a bowl for my son and then a bowl for me (minus seafood) I had rice, chicken, steak, green onions, cucumber, avocado, tempura onions, fried wontons, teriyaki glaze, and yum yum sauce. I know there were other toppings I could have chose, but I didn’t look down, I ordered off my list 🙄 next time I know what to expect and can probably free style it. Maybe. The staff, specially Leah, hope I’m spelling it right, were so friendly and helpful. I don’t always leave reviews. But lately I’m trying to go out of my way when we have an overly positive experience and friendly customer service. It’s so hard to find these days. I don’t want just good food. I can have that at home. I want my family and I to have a positive experience while out. I have worked in food service and retail myself. I know how hard it is. (I now work from home) but the world has turned into an awful place. Walking into a place like this is wonderful these days. We will be back. OH! FOOD WAS FABULOUS. I forgot to take pictures. Next time I’m going for a small salad poke bowl. I should have known better. I ate maybe...
Read moreFirst time eating here and only time. I started a 2nd job near this area and saw good reviews. I usually order from other poke places with great experiences... this place was definitely not good. Smallest portions I've seen, and qaulity was not good. Their ingredients were unclear to mark whats spicy? I had some red like spice stuff that looked like Tajin in one of my toppings that was spicy? I also have a mild spice allergy .. Before my order, I called to make sure they put the rice on the side because there's no options to do so on uber eats. I had called 3 times, and a woman finally answered on the last called and just said "Hello" with an attitude. Not "Hello thank you so much for calling Tropical Poke... how can I help you" Definitely wont be back
Update. So I received a text last night from a random number that just said "thanks for your service: or something like that. No context of who it was, just that. I JUST recieved a phone call at 9:42am from the same number and just realized its this place. Maybe not call people at 9am on a Saturday. It's not a business day, and some people may want to sleep in and not be woken up to their phones on a weekend when they worked until 3am the previous night. They didn't even leave a voicemail. This place seems...

Update: I really like this restaurant. I’ve met the owner who was very kind. I love poke and the food is good. Yesterday though made me not want to return. I hardly ever leave bad reviews and it takes a lot to upset me. I walked in yesterday around 4:30pm and I was quickly ending a phone call as I walked in. The woman behind the counter, who I’ve never seen before, was turned around doing some paperwork of some kind and said something at the same time as I was ending my call and as I got off the phone I apologized and asked her to repeat what she said that I couldn’t hear her. She looked over her shoulder and said in a very unfriendly tone “I said, I will be with you in a minute.” And continued to do her paperwork. I stood there a minute to register what had just happened. I just walked out. I’ve been in the service industry and I would never treat a customer that way. I truly never want to come back because I felt...
