UPDATE: So much for the free birthday steak.

If your birthday is on a holiday you're S.O.L. i made reservations in DECEMBER, specifically telling them this was a birthday dinner. Upon arrival, there's a sign stating that there won't be free birthday steaks today and that they won't honor them until the 21st. If I'd have known that I'd have waited. I SPECIFICALLY asked ...and i had even asked if they WOULD honor it on another day because Valentine's day is the worst day to try to eat out.

I live 40 minutes away. This is a very long drive to make. I just won't come back.

Here's what happened:

No butter for the chewy hard rolls. Thank god for the tea!

Salad was ok. Nothing special. The Italian dressing is sweet. Blugh.

The veggies were awful this time. Frozen California blend, bland and oddly tough, we sent them back and got buckskins which are deep fried potato wedges. I never got to finish them because our waitress took them off the table before i was done. I was busy trying to saw through the shoe leather they called a steak and didn't see her grab the dish. She was not a great server. First she brought sweet tea and had to take it back, then she never came back with the steak sauce. I had to go get it from another table. She never came back for refills and we had to get someone to find her so we could rid ourselves of those horrid veggies. Yes, they were busy, but not THAT busy. She was just inexperienced.

The steak. Good god what a nightmare! I ordered the cowgirl t-bone again. For a $32 steak it was embarrassingly tough. My boyfriend got the same thing and his was considerably larger. I rolled my eyes over that, but whatever - they're not all going to be the same size, right? Valentine's day can produce some inconsistencies. I'm actually glad it wasn't bigger, in retrospect, as I've never had to spit out that much unchewable steak before. It was like Hubba Bubba and Goodyear had a steak-flavored baby.

There was tons of silverskin to the point where it was impossible to cut through it with the dull knives provided. Between the 2 of us it was like we were trying to saw lumber. The table was shaking from the effort it took to get through the connective tissue. It was almost comical. After having to constantly spit out every other bite i got fed up with trying to be dainty and lady-like and picked up the bone and tore the meat off with my teeth since it was nearly impossible to get the meat off with knife and fork. The fork didn't even go into some of the meat, it seroiusly was like trying to stab a tire.

I had it cooked rare/blue but seared (i think they call it Philadelphia), so it should have been extremely tender. I'm glad i keep dental floss picks in my purse. My jaw is actually sore from all the chewing. My mom's NY strip wasn't as tough, but it was cooked... oddly. It was cooked, but not really browned. It looked, i don't know, STEAMED or something.

I get it that restaurants are nuts on Valentine's day which is why i don't like to go out to eat on my birthday, but when i asked 2 different people if i could come another day for the free birthday steak they said no even though i clearly said it was Valentine's Day. By the time we saw that sign on the door it was too late to go anywhere else. To end up spending over $80 for two insanely tough steaks and cheap frozen veggies was a colossal waste of money that would have been better spent elsewhere.

I don't know what's happened there since August, but this was a totally different experience and it was godawful.

TL/DR Nope. Just nope out of there and spend your money...

Our first visit a number of years ago was great, so a recent article posted on media enticed us to make a special Valentine's Day trip, inviting good friends to join us. From our previous visit, I told them to expect a wonderful experience. I had made a reservation several days before but never got a confirmation. When I checked again, the site said they weren't taking reservations, so we decided to be there shortly after opening at 4:00. That was fine and we waited with 6 other groups. We were seated and got our drinks. A fresh, delicious salad was served with their great dressing. We had to ask for rolls. First disappointment. Four lonely small, but hot, rolls were delivered, but no butter. Had to ask for it. The server then brought our steaks. Not one steak in four was prepared the way we ordered. Three were ordered medium and mine medium rare, with a slight crust. The mediums were very medium rare, which turns people off at once. I ordered the boneless ribeye medium rare. It came slightly less than well done. I was embarassed because I touted to our guests they were in for real treat, but along with that, so disappointed in my own steak. Yes, it was Valentine's Day and we were some of the first guests and the restaurant was filling up quickly, so I did not complain. We ate in quiet reserve as our guests passed pieces of steak to each other because one could not eat the rarest parts of their supposedly medium steak. I was still trying to cut through mine. I will praise the chef for the absolutely delicious green bean side dish!!! The server was as good as she could be and did bring us another serving of hot rolls with butter this time when asked. I'm so sorry for this review, it needed to be said. What happened with the stars of your menu?? Could arriving shortly after opening have...

Wow. I am absolutely shocked on how repulsive this place is. This is a very honest review, for a family owned steak house. My father chose to eat here for Father's Day and I was optimistic but this place needs some serious help. Let’s start off with the food, the steaks were very cold not overcooked but cold when handed to all of us ( party of 7 ) and there was absolutely NO flavor. To also add that the inside of the restaurant looked like a ran down cafeteria. The employees all looked like they were running around with their heads cut off. I didn’t even see one manager going around asking people how their meal was. Where is the HOSPITALITY of a general steak house!!!???!!! I also ordered a lobster tail to go with my steak, which was completely UNDERCOOKED!!! Not even an apology was given, I told the server and she just took it back. Didn’t even have the kitchen prepare me a new lobster tail. All they did was cook it a bit longer and give it to me on a new plate. COMPLETELY against food safety regulations and they ended up overcooking it. I told the server and she just said still don’t like it? Didn’t even offer to comp the lobster tail until I had to actually say that you’re comping this. This place is holding on to whatever effort that they have left and they just have loyal customers saying their food is delicious! Please WAKE UP people this food was disgusting and I mean that in the most honest food critic review that I can possible give. I will not be back and I will make sure to let my friends, family and anyone else know to not eat here. This place needs to...

This was my first time here, despite the fact I have lived in the area for 30+ years. We arrived at 6:00 on a Tursday and there were only a few cars out front. We were promply greeted and seated, as there eas no wait. There only 2 other tables seated. The food was a little pricey ($33 for my filet mignon, and $35 for my husband's surf and turf, but they were larger than the typical chain steakhouses). The food was good overall. The only minor complaints are that the croutons on the ceasar salad were chewy and the mushrooms we bought for the steak ($4ish) were not good -- they tasted like they came from a can. We are wondering if they are busy on the weekend, because the steaks were good (wood-fired) and it is a locally owned and operated small business. In other words, we'll be back.

People,if you want good steak, grilled on open fire, then here's your place. Drive a little bit past the "big 3" near international mall and save yourself some money. Steaks as big and tasty without the "big 3" price tag. Servers were super friendly and place gives the old school supper club vibe. Should have been a lot busier for a Friday night, so go check them out. Steaks cooked open flame with citrus wood chips. Good, unique flavor. No ala-carte so you are not paying for your sides and salad. Very enjoyable. They also have a 6 pound steak challenge 😲 . I dare you! We will be back for sure. Service and food - top notch. Oh yeah, bathrooms spotless and Koi pond outside.

Showing it's age for sure. The walkway and pond overgrown from its yester-year glory. And the interior, a comfortable standard of past decades. None of the apps are made in-house, so standard frozen apps there. The salad was very basic. The shrink scampi addition nothing memorable. The baked potato was standard and on par with expectations, although fresh shaved cheese would be a nice upgrade. The ribeye of lower quality cut but was very nicely seasoned and had a great char and grilled flavor, so overall even with the lower quality cut the steak was good. Overall though for price vs quality vs overall experience, I prefer a couple of the competitive chains.
