Yesterday was my first visit to G. Peppers. Full disclosure for this review, I ordered my food to-go so I can’t speak too much to the table service. First thing that came to my mind when pulling up to the place was a dive bar feel. Not that dive bars are a bad thing, but I was expecting mostly bar with a few tables around. As I walked in, the area is split with a wall to divide the bar area and a dining area. The bar area had a pool table and was pretty large. The dining area was a mirror image in size. There are a few TVs around and lighting is a bit dark. But I think that’s due to the time of day I was there. Again, not a bad thing given what I was expecting. I went to the bar to check out the menu and one of the waitresses was immediately very helpful. She came up and asked how she could help. I told her it was my first time and needed to suggestions outside of the Yelp and Google reviews. She gave me a run-down of some popular items as well as some things she liked. I settled with a patty melt that had Havarti cheese, caramelized onions, and an herb mayo. Definitely not what I was expecting from a patty melt! This came with steak fries but I think you have the option to substitute if you don’t want the fries. I also asked about the desserts because I’m a fat kid. And what fat kid doesn’t like a dessert?? She ran through some interesting options which are all made in house. I settled with a staple: oatmeal raisin chocolate chip cookies. The order didn’t take long at all. Very fast service which is nice if you’re in a rush. I got the food home and it all looked very good. The patty melt had a good size patty on it and a nice press. The fries were crisped very well. Usually when you take fries home that are hot, they get soggy by the time you’re ready to eat them. These maintained their crisp texture after about 10-15 minutes in the car. The patty melt was fantastic! All the flavors were an excellent mix and a substantial portion. I do have to knock one star off though for the fries. Yes I know, I raved about their texture. The problem is, I think the oil in which they’re cooked needs to be changed. It wasn’t an overwhelming flavor or smell, but enough to be noticeable and detract from an otherwise terrific meal. The cookies saved the day. There were 3 in a bag and they were what you might expect to make at home. I like seeing that in locally owned restaurants. I’ll definitely be back to G. Peppers. Hopefully the fry oil thing is a one off issue because the food was great and the...

He also founded St. Petersburg, Florida, naming both cities after places he loved in his native homeland. Demens sawmill is long gone but its sawdust is forever furrowed into the Odessa soil. And growing out of this soil is where you'll find G Peppers!
My Hot Pepper Hottie and I love love love G Peppers! Our most recent visit was on Meatloaf Wednesday, as the locals could call it. We watched as magical mounds of meatloafian delights were presented to eager diners. When asked, they replied it was 'Magnificent!' (or similar praises!)
For Crying Out Loud, We'd Do Anything for Love, But Two Out of Three Ain't Bad! In other 'non-Meatloaf song' words, we resisted the meatloaf.....this time!
I remembered hearing G Peppers had some seriously lofty wings, so I decided to Wing it! Buffalo-style. I got 10 wings for 9 bucks! That's 90 cents each!....most places charge at least $1.25 each. Now I know we've ALL had wings at those owl-eye, wingy o'places! And up to now I 'thought' I knew good wings. Let me tell you, it's gonna be our secret....shhhh! I'm saying it and I don't give a Hoot! G Peppers WINGS ARE SOLID GOLD!
My wings were perfectly crispy on the outside. Each bite a golden brown crunch munching melody in my mouth. Yet the inside was a juicy sweet white delight. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Fab One? She has a special sandwich she orders and they make that she loves. She's ordered it for years and today was no exception. I'll call her bread sled, 'The Fab One'. It consists of a cluster of corned beef, a pile of Pastrami and some Swiss slices on Rye. I snuck a nibble...it was really good! So was the bit of her sandwich I tried! Ha ha...
Hefting the heaps of heavenly sustenance upon us was none other than the World Famous Miss Bailey! She was fast with the food, dashing with our drinks and patiently put up with my pranks, puns and one-liners! We like her!
Get to G Peppers, like a Bat Out of Hell, even if it isn't Hump Day in a meatloaf kinda way!
Tell them John &...
Read moreThe local bar, G. Peppers Grill & tavern blew me away by the great food we had. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, with a great mix of people of all ages enjoying themselves. The interior decor was tasteful, with a rustic feel that added to the cozy ambiance.
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, making excellent recommendations based on my preferences. The service was outstanding, with attentive staff that made sure everything was to our liking. The bartenders were quick to refill our drinks and our food arrived promptly and cooked to perfection.
The food was pretty impressive with a menu that offered a great mix of bar snacks and more substantial comfort dishes. I had the pressed cuban and burger, which were juicy and flavorful, and the loaded fries, which were topped with an irresistible blend of cheese and bacon. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable. My kids enjoys having the chicken fingers and fries and its perfect for them. The sweet potato fries are just amazing. My favorite are the WINGS and they are the BEST and I will recommend them to everyone.
Overall, I highly recommend The G.Peppers to anyone looking for a great bar restaurant experience. The food, drinks, and service were all top-notch and the atmosphere was inviting and fun. I can't wait to come back and enjoy the lively vibe and delicious food and...
