So my girlfriend and I decided to come here for some UFC fights. We usually go to Buffalo Wild Wings, but we wanted to experiment while it was an underhyped fight card, not drawing a large crowd. We got there and it was a lot of college football going on with a few TV's on the prelims, so we were initially worried as to our potential fight-watching experience. But, when the actually pay-per-view started, more TV's made the switch and the audio was turned. It turned into a pretty good fight watching atmosphere.
The food.
We ordered the Gator's Combo Platter as an appetizer, including, "A hearty portion of four of YOUR FAVORITES. Wingers tossed in YOUR FAVORITE wing sauce, Mozzarella Sticks, Mini Burgers and Fried Onion Petals."
-The wingers were thin little strips of chicken that were tossed in sweet Thai chili sauce. They were pretty ok, but not as good as the Miller Ale House zingers I feel like they're trying to imitate.
-The mozzarella sticks were mozzarella sticks.
-The mini burgers were the best part of the dish. It was like eating delicious White Castle burgers, but they were actually more meat than White Castle burgers. Yum.
-The fried onion petals were not so ok. I like the concept a lot, but the onion petals that were underneath the breading were hard and unfriendly to bite.
Next, we decided to do one of specials they were offering that night, a wing flight! It was like a flight of beer or wine, but with wings. I got four different flavors, and I got three of each flavor. We got Scooteryaki, Thai peanut, peanut butter and jelly, and parmesan garlic. Scooteryaki was great, being a mix of teriyaki sauce and their homemade special Scooter sauce. Peanut butter and jelly was unexpectedly good. It's hard to describe, and you may not believe me, but as long as you avoid dipping them in ranch at all costs, you will like this flavor or wing.
Bottom line on wings is that they were good. Not as thick and meaty as the ones from Buffalo Wild Wings, but you definitely won't be disappointed.
Finally, for dessert, we had an apple themed ice cream sunday that I can't find a description of online, but it was good. It had fried apples in it that you could munch on. Not mind blowing, but good, like I said.
Overall, I'm glad we came here. It was above average, I think, but not perfect.
