Along with another couple, we had dinner on May 13th. First, the food was good and server very personable. It took almost 5 minutes for someone to come to the table which was a supervisor who then got our server. The server quickly commented that 3 servers had quit and instead of 7, there were only 4 working. We were actually okay with that as we were there to enjoy each others company. However, some big disappointments that had nothing to do with being short on servers soon arose. After placing our drink order, it took about 10 minutes to have them delivered. Wasn't aware that the bar was short as well. Two drinks were wrong, and they were warm meaning they had sat on the bar most of the time. When she took the pina colada order she said it may take a while as they only have one machine to make frozen drinks (an establishment with an outside bar area, on the river, with only one machine). When she returned 10 minutes later, we were told the ONE machine......was broken. So, our friend had her drink on ice. After taking a sip, she told the server there was no alcohol for which she replied, there is alcohol in all of them. She offered to have a shot purchased to add to the drink but our friend told her not to worry about it. She came back 3-4 minutes later to communicate that yes, indeed, the bar "forgot" to put any alcohol in it! So, she brought the rum in a glass. For a second drink she was told no salt on the rim (as there was on the first one) so when it came you could tell that salt was on it and someone simply wiped it off! I sincerely understand the times we are in with a shortage of help, but these things mentioned, quite frankly, there is no excuse. Maybe the couple workers standing at the hostess station could have been better used running food or drinks. Anyway, I wish them the best and hope they get fully staffed and possibly buy another blender. But with a limited menu (Quite different from the one the 4 of us had found online) and the inability to get drink orders correct.....we'll continue to dine at other eateries in the area which are more established. Best to the owners and staff as they continue to grow and improve. (wanted to add that I did hear from Marker and emailed a detailed response. Did not hear back but hope their customer service improves and they develop a larger menu with greater options that matches what most of their...

On a recent visit, we had the pleasure of being served by Alexa, a friendly and knowledgeable server bartender. She was able to answer all of our questions about the menu and make recommendations based on our preferences. 3/3 WooHoos!
I started with the Market Fresh Cartoccio. Delishious, fresh fish fillet, seared and dressed with buttery buerre blanc wine sauce and capers, topped with tomatoes confit, red peppers, red onions and kalamata olives. The fish was fresh and perfectly prepared and flavorful and a complex delicious sauce finish.
Chuck had the Spinach Chicken Alfredo which is a classic dish made with Alfredo sauce, spinach, and grilled chicken. The chicken was cooked to perfection, and the Alfredo sauce was rich and creamy. 3/3 Yums!
Jay had Ceviche and Island Seafood Chowder, which were both excellent, a little on the sweet side. The ceviche was made with fresh seafood, citrus juices, and herbs, and it was perfectly seasoned. The seafood chowder was hearty and flavorful, and it was loaded with seafood. 2/3 Yums!
Finally, Agnes had the High Panko Tuna Steak Salad which is a salad made with grilled tuna, panko bread crumbs, and a variety of fresh vegetables. The tuna was cooked perfectly, and the salad was refreshing and delicious not dressed, mango okay. 2/3Yums

Read moreCame to visit Melbourne with my family and parents for my birthday. After a 3 hour drive we were starving. I googled top restaurants in Melbourne and unfortunately Marker 99 showed up. From looking at the pictures and being a huge seafood lover from south Florida I thought it’d be a nice play to try. Once we arrived, our hostess seated the 5 of us at a booth which still had food crumbles on the table and seats so I had to ask for a new table which isn’t a big deal I know these things can happen I worked as a server for years. 3/5 of us ordered cocktails, in order to celebrate my birthday. Needless to say, 2/3 were terribly made and my wife’s mojito had a bug in it. That was it for drinks….: Moving on to the food, we ordered the shrimp ajillo which had like 5 small pieces of shrimp in it and burnt flatbreads for 18$… The fried cheese balls were ok. For a restaurant that had only 10% capacity on the night, we waited and waited and waited for our entrees close to 45minutes. My 4 year old daughter was losing her mind. Once the food came out, my 35$ ribeye steak was burnt to a crisp on the outside and all fatty throughout. So disappointed. My kids cheese pizza was overcooked the cheese was sadly all brown my child wouldn’t try it, I had to take it home for my dogs. My wife ordered the ceviche which is supposedly made with cobia, I’ve had cobia several times before because we go salt water fishing and that was not fresh at all or even cobia to begin with. My father ordered the fresh catch carpaccio which was also cobia and it was not worth at all being a 35$ MP dish. My mother ordered the gumbo bowl, it was not recommended. We didn’t even take any of this food to go despite receiving Togo boxes. To be honest, I’m not one to complain or ever leave reviews to places I’ve gone to whether it’s good or bad. I couldn’t sleep due to the fact I was disappointed in my family’s dinner and my birthday. I will not be visiting this restaurant in the future, I’m in Melbourne for another 3 days and I hope to find a place my family can...
