Attended a conference and was listed as one of our lunch venues. 1st, there was no organization between the conference and the restaurant on the property. I'm not sure who is really at fault for that. 2nd, the woman who was trying to sit at our party of 8 was very rude. We missed 1 hour of our conference because they would not seat us. There were empty tables and we had to wait half an hour. Many others arrived before us, but there were tables available. She blamed the chef and said he couldn't get the plates out to us because it was busy already. I have never heard such a thing. Then she told us to go to the pool as it would be faster service. All of us ladies were in heels and business clothes, hair, and makeup done. The last thing we wanted to do was eat poolside food, no table to sit at sweating with 85-degree weather, and humid. She just kept pushing us to leave. This was not the hostest. This seemed to be maybe a manager. Th Finally, one person in our party who works at a high-end restaurant asked them if we could at least be split at different tables and sit down and get water. Finally, they said yes. It was my first time eating here, and before we even ate anything, I was so disappointed in the attitude of this employee. We were all very patient and kind. Once we sat down, the restaurant started to clear out, and our food was very delayed. The restaurant is not that big and our waitress was nowhere to be found. We had to ask other staff for water refills. Again, another disappointment. I had very high expectations for this restaurant, and I have been to better dive pubs. Food was nothing to write home about. It's such a beautiful place but not beautiful staff or service. Really wish that...
Read moreStaying at Innisbrook for the next 2 weeks. Decided to stop in Salamander last night. I ordered my food & watched a table of 8 arrive about 15 mins after I got seated. I watched them eat, pay & leave as I sat there waiting nearly an hour for a small salmon salad. I asked the waitress is my salad ever going to get here? And she said the kitchen staff was backed up. Apparently they had 8 professional business men to serve, screw little old me, right? 😄 I then see her talking to someone for a good 5 mins as I sat there on the 45 min mark, still waiting. Also, when I first got there, I told the waitress, I may have someone joining me because I was seated with 2 menus and it was just me. Towards the end of my experience, everytime the waitress came back to the table, she kept talking me in this tone as if she felt oh sooo sorry for me, as if I was stood up by my date. My husband was back at the condo feeling under the weather, I was going to see him in 2 mins. I think I'll survive all that humiliation of sitting alone (sarcasm).😄 Either way, I brought him back some chicken wings to-go that he didn't care too much for. The band was awesome & mocktails were good, but the wait, and 'feel sorry for me' tone + the puppy dog eyes were on another level. Don't think I'll be returning...
Read moreFirst: This restaurant is not where google maps says it is. To get to the restaurant search for the Osprey Clubhouse, Millridge Rd., Palm Harbor, FL 34683, or call them when you get to where google says it is. Second: You'll be glad you took the time to find the restaurant. It has a small uncomplicated menu which presumably allows them to concentrate their efforts on doing everything well. We went for an early dinner and sat outside on the patio with a delightful view of the golf course. Our appetizers - Caprese salad and Caesars salad were excellent, as were my blue cheese burger and my wife's Shrimp pasta. Wine by the glass was of reasonable quality, quantity and price. Bryson, our server, did an excellent job. Third: The one thing I wish they would add are one or two draft Florida IPAs to supplement the bland mass produced beers they...
