I called Sal's Italian Restaurant last week to make arrangements for a family meal after my father's burial at the National Memorial Cemetery a mile away. I spoke to Olivia to make all of the necessary arrangements to have my family of 15 sit in the same area as well as away from the other diners, as to not disrupt their meals. I have to admit I was a little defeated by the time I called Sal's since I had just called to TooJay's down the road before reaching Olivia and TooJay's was extremely rude and disrespectful and would not help me. Olivia couldn't have been more opposite, she definitely exceeded my expectations at that point! She listened to me and understood my family's needs, even offering condolences multiple times throughout our conversation. She bent over backwards to make me feel like I had made the right choice to gather with my family after such an emotional experience at her restaurant. Once it was time to head over for our late lunch about 2:30, a half hour earlier than I originally told Olivia, we were greeted by a super friendly woman behind the counter and a gentleman who showed us to our tables. They were already pre-set with disposable tablecloths and our server promptly took our drink order and brought us garlic rolls. I did notice that the servers that took care of us would politely stand back if they saw us talking with other family members to respect our privacy and family time, super impressive! There were 15 of us so I don't really recall what everybody ordered but I will say we did order off of the lunch menu since we were there before 4. The lunch specials came with either a garden salad or soup as well as the basket of garlic rolls. My sister and cousin ordered the lentil soup which they raved about, I had the pasta faciole which was absolutely the best version of the soup I've ever had! I ordered the chicken piccata and it was huge for $12.99! My husband and two of our children ordered the two pizza slice lunch which were enormous slices and a beverage. I know my other son ordered the shrimp scampi (not a lunch special), one of my sister's order the enormous chicken parmesan lunch platter, my other sister ordered clams which were overflowing off of the plate and my dad's girlfriend had a big boat of lasagna. I couldn't see what my aunt and uncle or cousin ordered or my other nephews but everybody was pretty happy and left with leftovers. We sat there for nearly two hours even though our food came out promptly. There were several family members we hadn't seen in years so we took this opportunity to sit and reminisce. We never felt rushed, in fact, I even had to ask for my check when I felt ready for us to leave. I would normally not be that disrespectful and hold up tables but it was an slow time in the restaurant, between lunch and breakfast. Our server even offered to take several family photos of our group! I can't recommend this restaurant and management team enough, especially if you are visiting the National Memorial Cemetery in Boynton Beach a mile away. Bravo...
Read morePlaced an order for delivery on 07/27/2025, spent $77.27 and had specific instructions with the ordering of both a Large Pizza AND a Steak n Cheese Sub to PLEASE NO BELL PEPPERS on either. They got the no peppers on the pizza, but FAILED to NOT put BELL PEPPERS on the Steak Sub. It's a REALLY GOOD THING I'm not allergic to them. What is the purpose of placing specific instructions into the comments (in multiple places) if they're going to just be ignored! And this is the first time I've ever ordered any kind of sub from them, but it was soooooo extremely greasy that it was inedible!!! WHAT A WASTE OF $18.50!!!! The bread of the sub was completely soaked through with grease that you couldn't even pick up the sub to eat it! Went right into the trash can! Not to mention that when you place a HOT SUB into an aluminum to go container, that it "SWEATS" due to it being hot, that it ALSO makes the sub soggy and inedible! What a disappointment. Also, the pizza was overcooked and made the bottom of pie and crust "chewy". I probably will not be back to Sal's and it's a shame that they don't take pride in both their name and their food!!! I guess there's no quality control to check the food prior to sending it out to the customer. After seeing and reading numerous bad reviews in the past 6 months to a year, it's a surprise that they haven't closed down!! Maybe they should.... either that or revamp both their employees and quality control!!! **If you look at the attached photo, you can clearly see that there are BELL PEPPERS on the sub as well as it's basically SWIMMING in grease at the bottom of...
Read moreI have been coming to this sals for as long as they have been at this locationwhhich has been alot of yrs. I get the lunch special which is a half sub, a tiny side salad (mostly lettuce) and a slice of cheese pizza for around $10ish dollars. My older waitress (obviously menopausal) was a new one and had a really bad attitude, I asked for lemon for my water 4 times (never did get it), she forgot to add Xtra tomatoe on my sub and then when I asked her for the tomatoe she brought a plate of 4 then proceeded to say she will have to charge me for them when I only asked for 1 on My sub. Then they didnt put dressing on my sub (per my request) but she didn't bring the dressing on the side like I asked so when I asked her for it she brought it to the table in a gravy dish and proceeded to also tell me they would have to charge me for it O.O. she then has the manager (blonde lady) come to the table to tell me the same thing she would have to charge for the extras and I told her I didnt order 4 tomatoes and I'm not paying for dressing that already comes with the sub. Need I remind you ive asked for it this way for 10 yrs and never had a problem. If they wanted more money all they had to do was say it when ordering not after the fact... Smh dont waist your time here it's not worth the hassle and they were so rude to lose a long time customer over a tomatoe. Just ridiculous! Pizza tastes...
