Went Friday 11:30 a.m. ish, (to order food and bring home food for dinner for my husband for later that night and for the next days big upcoming football weekend playoffs)... take out, carry out was VERY busy! The young gentleman working this particular part of the restaurant by himself was so kind and took the time to help us figure out what I/we wanted for takeout for my husband's birthday. I didn't mind waiting and letting the other people go ahead like the take out delivery drivers and such or people coming in after me that we're rushing on their lunch breaks. I was interested in slabs of ribs but we couldn't really get the kind that had black pepper in it so they took time (he along w the help of the kitchen) guiding us with which kind would work (no dry rub) and what could work for my husband who's kinda allergic to black pepper. I purchased a full rack of dry/no sauce baby back ribs, $17.99 which included *no sides*, purchased another full rack of dry/no sauce beef ribs $16.99 (or so I thought they were full racks???) again included no sides just the meat -- WHY no sides included? Purchased a bottle of sweet BBQ sauce on the side ($4) and ended up also buying a chunk of brisket as well (19.99) again came with no sides cuz we are buying them a la carte I guess???? Surprised to see that they don't have 1lb lunches or full rack of beef ribs to go and 1 lb or full rack lunches of baby back ribs for carryout that would include bread and sides???? Because of that I had to purchase sides of barbecue beans ($5.99) and coleslaw ($5.99) and even had to pay for two slices of bread (1.60) so my husband could make a sandwich with the $20 piece of brisket I bought. I purchased a bottle of sweet barbecue sauce since our ribs were dry no sauce at my request per the kitchens info... (only to find out they didn't have any more so they just put it in a big cup for me/us which was just as good). Very pricey only because not sure that we got a full rack of ribs in both of those racks, kinda didn't look like it for $16.99 for the rack of beef ribs and then high price for the baby back pork ribs as well 17.99 but very delicious! Made my husband happy when he got home from work that night after working another 14-hour day at UPS (his birthday no less...) to find delicious food waiting for him. With tip it's maybe 90ish just for my husband to have a couple of meals. Looks like according to the receipt the ribs were packaged based on it being 1 lb and not a rack per se. That might explain why. My only recommendation would be is if there's any way that during that busy lunch time you could have more than just one person trying to work that take out delivery area. I was there for about an hour which as I said I didn't mind I was just sitting wondering trying to figure out what to order, calling my husband to clarify things, talking to the nice kid at the carryout etc etc). Trust me they were working hard. Thanks Sonny's very delicious and a nice treat. My husband doesn't know how much I spent though. I paid for it out of my own money I don't think he would think $85 -$90 was a fair price for what turned out to be two meals for him, again still don't understand not even getting a piece of bread or two? However when you're in the mood for barbecue what else can you do.... 👍 Will definitely be back. 😁 (Oh side note, sure am glad I got my husband's dinner for him at lunch time that day because later that day I accidentally got attacked by my cat and ended up in the ER during dinner time that Friday night on my husband's birthday lol. I gave him a break, I told him don't worry about me don't come to the hospital just go home relax and enjoy your barbecue, it was his birthday for goodness sakes. Oh and I didn't eat any of his birthday barbecue, I'm such a good wife, maybe next time I can have some barbecue, Lol.)

I saw their brisket bowls on a commercial, so we ordered food online for our Movie night. This was our first time eating at this chain before (Little Road location). I parked in the curbside. Hit the “I’m Here” button on their website and received the “Your Food is on its way”. After 10 minutes I texted “Here” to the number on the sign at my spot and got an error message. Sat for 15 minutes total before walking in(I had my 4 young kids with me so curbside was convenient). A gentleman who had walked in prior to me says they never come out for curbside the several times he’s done it, so he walks in every time now. When I walked in the young girl was very pleasant and greeted me right away. I explained everything and she said they don’t have us down for curbside, but our food was there waiting. Aside from that, the food was amazing! Even eating it probably an hour after it was made. We live 25 minutes away. Sandwich breads and tater tots weren’t soggy. Bowls were delicious. Ribs were good. Even reheated leftovers the next day, my sister said it was still great.

If you're in the mood for good BBQ in the New Port Richey, FL area, look no further. Although Sonny's is a chain restaurant, they check off all the boxes you'd want for southern BBQ: 1) the menu features all the great dishes you'd expect - ribs (St. Louie-style and Baby Back), brisket, pulled pork, and chicken - along with a tasty array fo sides - baked beans, cole slaw, corn on the cob, green beans, corn bread, (w/regular or cinnamon butter) and more! The menu includes lots of combos (i.e. pulled pork and chicken, ribs and chicken, etc.), PLUS they were happy to put together a combo I wanted that wasn't on the menu. Sweet tea was the perfect beverage for this southern meal. One caution: If you get the cobb salad (as one of us did), expect it to be BIG and to have lots of toppings such as eggs and bacon. In fact, we thought there was far too much toppings for the scant ratio of lettuce (i.e. too much "schmutz"). Now we know. I only wish we had Sonny's BBQ in Pennsylvania so I could enjoy it more often!

Went for husband's birthday with mother-in-law, husband and myself - late lunch. Overall, I would rate the visit successful, however there were a few things that were not up to par. First, the service was excellent. Kelsea was very attentive to our needs and it seemed that all one of us needed to do was look up and she'd be there asking what she could do. Also when we were too full to take advantage of my husband's birthday brownie dessert, she had it packed up for us to take home for later. And thank you to those who did the packing - all the parts were packed separately so could be put in the freezer or fridge or on counter for later - fabulous idea! Now, the not-so-great, both hubby and I got the 'all you can eat' St Louis Ribs and I should have saved myself the extra money. I was full after the first serving. That was my fault - my desire was larger than my stomach. However, birthday boy asked for a second plate of his dry-rubbed ribs because the first plate had been so great - melt in your mouth tender and moist enough without being juicy. I had tasted one of his and I concur - they were fantastic. The second plate was at the other end of the continuum - dry and tough. In fact, it appeared that the dry rub had just been shaken onto the ribs as it was dry on the ribs and on the plate also and it was the "end" piece which tends to be dry normally. Our problem is that we didn't say anything to our server which we should have and maybe she could have replaced it. The other issue we had was we couldn't use our $5 off $25 coupon that hubby had printed because our dinners were a promotion and the small print said not on promos. So, it was our first and last trip to Sonny's, husband will not try again - both issues were near end of meal so that's...

Let me start by saying Sonny's is in my Top 3 favorite places to eat. However, this location CONTINUES to disappoint. The turkey is dry and the garlic bread is chewy, and not in a good way. The online ordering to-go is a joke. There's NEVER silverware, or additional condiments that COME with specific items, even when requested {ie: no butter or sour cream for baked potatoes, no ranch for fried okra}. I've given this location more than half a dozen visits and I always remember why I hate ordering from here. Stopped in yesterday to pick up a curbside online order. There was a car already waiting when I arrived and soon after I checked in via text as requested, the boy came out with a bag and gave it to the already waiting vehicle. Got payment, went back in, came back out and then went back inside. Never once came to ask if I was picking up an order or even a "hey I'll be right with you". I waited another 6 mins before I finally walked in and asked for my order which was sitting on the bar, and I had to locate. Now mind you, I'd set up the pick up time for 615. I arrived at 625. When I got my bag to work, you guessed it, no silverware and no ranch for an order of okra even though it's listed as being included with the order.

When COVID first got started and only curbside was available, I ordered online and came 15mins after I'd scheduled pick up and my order still wasn't ready. Hadn't even been started. Manager offered to refund my card because I couldn't wait another 15 mins, but I've never...
