We decided to come here after a day at the beach and asked to be seated on the patio, as the view is beautiful! Once seated, I noticed the fans were off so I asked if someone could please turn them on and they said they didn’t work. It would’ve been nice to know that prior to being seated. It has been incredibly hot and the patio had ZERO air circulation. We moved to the inside patio and ordered our food. I ordered the pan sautĆ©ed sea bass and it came out baked and breaded- not pan sautĆ©ed- and covered in a soggy breading. In all fairness they offered to take it back. I ordered the salmon instead but they took forever to get my second order, which was also pretty gross. Everyone was finished with their meal and we were waiting around to get mine (to-go now since it took so long) My husband and daughter’s meals were also pretty bad. We also had to ask for refills on our drinks every time our cups were empty- which was a few times since it was very hot. Our waiter was nice but the entire staff seemed stressed out and there weren’t a lot of customers there. The restaurant smells terrible inside- like a musty basement with dead fish. The waiter asked for our payment before even bringing us the check so I didn’t know what I was paying for until after it was paid. I thought the bill seemed excessive then after I paid and tipped and got the receipt I noticed there was a service charge. Not sure what that’s for since we had a party of 3 people and no where did it say there would be a service charge. One more thing- even though the meal I received was not what was described on the menu and had to wait forever for my new meal, didn’t get to eat with my family, and ended up getting it to go- the second meal was not comped and the only thing they did not charge for was the original meal. Which, is understandable but most places would’ve been more gracious since the error was completely on them. No one wants soggy breaded fish, and if that’s what you’re serving then that’s what needs to be on the menu. We spent $175 and we all would’ve had a better experience at chic fil a. Please save your money and do...

Update 1 year from original review: Still the same beautiful view. As before, we chose to watch the sunset on the grassy field to the left of squid lips, and after taking a hyperlapse video, we went in to score a table on the back deck area.

After 5 weeks of dieting, the lobster and crab cake burger tasted like a slice of heaven.

Feeding the hundreds of catfish on the back dock afterward was rewarding as it usually is. The server even mentioned that we could/and should feed them our leftovers on top of the fish food offered in a $.25 gumball like machine on the back dock. Regardless of the method, I find the experience to be highly rewarding.

All in all, we will definitely be back next year for another dinner regardless of what event we are celebrating because after 2 visits, we are definitely in love with squid lips and vow to be returning customers. (End of updated review)

Definitely was a great experience that I am thankful for, and I'm glad we went.

We pulled in just before the sunset and walked over to the waters edge for a beautiful view of the sun dipping below the horizon.

We then went to put our names down for a table, they said an hour but it took less than half an hour. In the meantime, we put quarters in for fish food to feed all the fat fish (i guess this happens a lot)

Luckily, we were seated out back. They did a beautiful job of creating a visually pleasing atmosphere that compliments the sunset.

We ordered the smoked fish dip, calamari, mahi salad, and mahi reuben. Both fish were fresh and well cooked. Everything tasted great and was well served.

All of the staff were pleasant and smiling so the place carried a good energy. The favorite part was definitely walking out on the dock to look...

I have read the other reviews and well here is an honest review of this location. Ok we will start with wait staff and management. Taylor is a great waitress and very attentive to her customers. The young lady who I presume is the manager on duty today was also courteous and attentive to our dining needs. The scenery is good a nice view of the water and a very clean place to be. The contractors did a good job of the remodel of this restaurant. Time for the food review... Looks are deceiving.. The bacon wrapped scallops we're good but not $16 good. The fish and shrimp is no worthy of human consumption and should be removed from the menu. The fish was slimy and tasted very bad. The breading on the shrimp was like the fish breading and was gross. To top it off, the shrimp was over cooked. The lobster shrimp Mac and cheese the only way to screw that up would be to put onions in it and make it over $10 for a plate... mine was filled with onions, and it cost $18. On the bright side of the Mac and cheese it is very good once the onions are out of the way. Drinks are good and the staff keeps your glass filled! Steaks are good also tender and tasted like the cook knew what he was doing unlike the other items we ordered that tasted like they were made by a retirement home cook. Food is good 2 star good, flavor is missing in a lot of the meals and it is disappointing. Having to pay what we had to pay for our food we may never return which is unfortunate because the staff is good, recipes and cooks... not so much.
