Update to original review!!

Was advised by my cousin that someone from upper management with Stinky’s reached out to them with a sincere apology for the way they were treated on their initial visit recently. This is all due to her being handicapped and just wanting to be treated with respect. I’m happy to report they accepted the offer to return to Stinky’s for lunch and they were treated with the utmost respect and had a great lunch with drinks, desert and service was excellent and all staff went out of their way to be of service. I applaud management for taking notice of their staff members poor actions and disrespect to an handicap individual or anyone for that matter and doing the right thing as a result of a bad review. I choose not to remove the original review but happy to say this matter now ends on a very positive note and hopefully the staff member who was there that evening in the bar area will use better judgment and use this terrible experience as a learning opportunity so no one ever has to be treated like this ever again. Everyone is subject to a bad night or a mistake but never to this degree.

My Original review below: My cousin who is in a wheelchair and handicapped along her husband arrived this evening and after a short wait they were told they could take seating at one of the “high top tables”. Feeling totally appalled, her husband informed the restaurant staff person this was not possible and asked for an available table that would accommodate her wheelchair. They said no, you have to be seated at the high top. Obviously they left, this is absolutely ridiculous and unbelievable. This restaurant and staff person should be called out for their actions for their behavior and inconvenience to a handicap person who clearly could not sit at a high top bar table!!! The staff person who choose to direct this couple to a high top table should be ashamed and fired. I trust the owner or management will see this and take the appropriate action. We will certainly be spreading the word for visitors and local people to see and if they want to patronize a restaurant who has no regard for their customers and specifically a handicap individual, I personally recommend anyone thinking about dining here to take your business and money elsewhere where ALL people are welcome...

I was unsure about this place because it looked like the typical tourist hotspot for Florida - long wait for mediocre food and spotty service. However, I was pleasantly surprised by our experience overall.

We did wait over an hour, but were fortunate enough to swipe seats at the bar for our five- person party. The bartender initially had a bit of an attitude and said we couldn’t have more than four people at the bar because of socially distancing. No one was on our side of the bar and the patrons were leaving. We made a comment about the others leaving and he begrudgingly said it was ok for us to stay. That didn’t give us the best first impression, however the bartender’s (I can’t believe I cannot recall his name) attitude changed and he warmed up after a few minutes. If you are a whiskey drinker, you will be elated to discover they have Pappy Van Winkle. Granted, it’s $50 a pop but my wife was happy to pay for this rare find. We ordered a few appetizers while we waited. I had the house salad and everyone in my group ended up ordering one because it was so delicious. When our table was ready, the host tried seating us at a four-top and put a chair at the end of the table. I told her it would it work as we are five adults. She kept pushing back and I refused to have us sit at a table that literally could not support our drinks and all of our entrees. We had just spent over $300 at the bar alone! Seriously, the hostess staff needs common sense training. We ended up going back to the bar and eating our entrees there. As a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised to see they offered a two course meal that was flavorful and filling! Everyone else ordered seafood and no one had a complaint about their food.

Overall, it was a great experience. The staff interaction was a little rocky and there could certainly be some improvements. However, the food and layer interaction with the bartender made the night enjoyable and we will...

🍽️🍹🌊 Located right on 30A in Santa Rosa Beach, this spot exudes a cheery and relaxed vibe with eclectic decor. It is right across from one of the larger public beaches in the area and was within walking distance or an easy bike ride, making it a regular haunt for me. After trying the cauliflower (amazing and different), I told them I was going to eat my way through the entire menu and I gave it a good try.

Next door, the more casual spot, The Bait Shop, became my go-to for morning coffee, and it's worth noting they offer a rare 7am-10am happy hour. While it was a bit early for me, it's a testament to their laid-back approach - live your life!

The bartenders here are fantastic, each one friendly and eager to share local tips and tricks. Karley, in particular, stands out for her warmth and charm; we shared many laughs during my visits as I explored yet another delicious menu item. Highlights include the Cauliflower Steak, Firecracker Shrimp, Tacos!! Huge portion, and the intriguing Bousin Bites - think sausage with rice inside!

Tips:

Small Bar with limited seating – go in off times or be prepped to wait a bit. There is a nice outdoor area to wait and a deck out the back where you can feed turtles. Grab a $1 bag at the host stand. If coming with a large group – also get there early and try off times. There is a little bit of space to hover behind the bar seats while you wait. Parking can also fill up – so if you can bike or walk it – or golf cart it – that is best. For seafood lovers, anything fish or shrimp-related is a must-try, and even though I don't eat oysters, they were a popular choice with plenty of tempting preparations. Overall, it's a fantastic spot with great food, friendly staff, and a vibrant atmosphere - highly...
