Victorio’s Oyster Bar & Grille, 1701 S. U.S. Hwy 1, Titusville, Florida 32796-
1.0-Star
Nestled in Scottsmoor/Mims “Scims,” Florida, Victorio’s Italian Seafood, a/k/a Victorio’s Oyster Bar & Grill, indicates on its menu that it has been serving Central Florida since 1979. Not in this building. This must refer to the Longwood location, which boasts on the website of having the “Best Oysters in Apopka.” I do remember coming here in the 1990’s. Back then it was a tiny shack and you always had to wait due to its popularity. Once again, it is still packed. Crystal, our service member, was not able to start until exactly 12:00pm. Rather than be accommodating, she had the alternative proclivity to be punishingly punctual. We had to stare at her for three minutes since it was only 11:57am. Promptly at noon she asked for our drink order.
Unfortunately, the fun ended there.
Crystal kept directing me to the red potatoes as a side, telling me that they were good. I tried them and agreed, which is why this Victorio’s location got a star from me at all. Apparently, her insisting on the red potatoes was her way of letting me know that the rest of the sides were terrible. And they were.
I ordered the Filet Tips & Jumbo Shrimp and was very disappointed. The shrimp were cheap and tasted like they were reduced in salad dressing. The “filet” tips must have been from a 100-year-old cow because I could not chew them. See photos (or not).
I also tried the Catfish Filets. How do you screw up catfish filets? Obviously, by not selling enough and letting them rot in the walk in. These fish had turned. Again inedible.
Before y’all country boys and girls get mad at me and start yelling about how I’m so wrong, let me just say that the food here was better than the swill at AKO Seafood 200 yards away. Titusville does actually have some of the best comfort food in the county. Sadly, this isn’t it.

Read moreMy husband and I were in the area so we checked out the reviews and the menu and figured we’d give it a try. When we arrived the host and hostesses were going back and forth about who to “give” us to. I even made the comment to my husband “If no one wants to serve us maybe we should go somewhere else” (always go with your first gut instinct) Funally we were seated. The waitress came over and introduced herself and we each ordered a beer which she promptly returned with. We then order a bucket if peel and eat shrimp and the Captains Delight which had shrimp, oysters, snow crab legs and scamp scallops with hush puppies and broccoli and a side of corn. The waitress brought the food to the table and dropped it off and left. No cocktail sauce, no crackers, and no one to be found for at least 15 mins. Finally got someone else’s attention and she brought cocktail sauce and said she’d send the manager over. (We didn’t ask to speak with the manager) another good 15 mins go by and our waitress finally decides to show her face. She asked if we wanted a refill on the beer and was gone for another few minutes then brings them back and mumbles they are in her and why but we couldn’t hear he and she disappeared again. At this point you could tell we were finished eating what we were going to eat. She never removed anything from the table. Another 5 mins goes by and she finally returns to get some things off the table, and tried to run away when we told her we wanted the check. Brings it back and THEN gets all bubbly and asks how everything was. Neither of us even cared to say anything at this point. We just wanted to pay and get out of there. Oh btw, manager never did show up. If you like overcooked food and poor service then this is the place for you!! Otherwise I’d suggest finding...
Read moreThe 3 stars are for food only. But even the tasty food was marred by the HORRIBLE service. My husband and I stopped here because we have a friend moving to Titusville at the end of the month and we thought we'd check out this place. We asked to sit at a booth in the bar because the restaurant looked dark and dreary.3 booths were empty but the tables apparently had not been cleaned. We asked about wine because, come on, this is Victorio's, an Italian restaurant. Our server said "We have red and white. Which do you want?" We ordered pinot grigio. It was just ok.We were given straws with our wine! Would've preferred silverware to go with our food! We ordered a dozen raw oysters. They were brought to us with 2 lemon slices, ONE seafood fork and a habanero tabasco sauce. I'm a tabasco fan and didn't care for this. No cocktail sauce. My husband asked for horseradish. We waited. And waited. And waited. The horseradish came and looked like soup. We asked for plates and silverware. Apparently you get no plates. My husband had to find silverware so we didn't have to share the ONE seafood fork. The oysters were ok. Nothing special. I ordered the Italian sub with the dressing on the side because it's often too oily. The sandwich came with the dressing. It was delicious. My husband order the "grouper's cousin" sandwich and he enjoyed it. Our server brought us the check. She never asked if we wanted another glass of wine. Not sure if dessert is offered here because we were never asked about that, either. The bartenders seemed pleasant as we overheard them with the customers sitting at the bar. Maybe this is a good "neighborhood" bar that just happens to offer food as a side note. Doubt if we'll be back. There are other places to be checked out. I should have read...
