If you have more than 4 people in your party you will have to sit at SEPARATE TABLES. We had a party of 8 people (small child included). When one of our party members called on the phone to make a reservation earlier in the day, she was told by staff on phone that they DO NOT ACCEPT RESERVATIONS (however on google it says "reservations are highly recommended"). But HOW? If the staff won't let you make a reservation. This shows poor communication among staff and owners and therefore poor communication from staff to customers resulting in poor customer service. On the phone she was told if we just showed up at 4pm they could accommodate 8 people. They didn't mention that we would be separated and have to sit at separate tables. When large parties go out to eat together, they expect to SIT TOGETHER. When you serve people in a restaurant, you don't separate families and make them sit at separate tables, otherwise you might have children at tables eating by themselves? Never have I EVER gone to a restaurant and been told a party could not all sit together. Anyone reading this...has that ever happened to you??? As someone who has worked in multiple restaurants, never has any restaurant had a strange policy where they "can't move the furniture" to accommodate large parties. This is more like a rule in a museum or a "look but don't touch" kind of setting like Ripleys Believe It or Not; not a restaurant where you expect people to come, spend money, eat...and (wait for it)... actually SIT on the furniture and EAT on the tables. Anyways, the hostess/waitress/manager (she acted like the OWNER) said, "It's just our policy. We do not MOVE THE FURNITURE AFTER 2PM.....OR EVER...ACTUALLY." I heard the narrative from her mouth change live before my ears in order to find a reason not to serve us. This also shows a discrepancy between shift change (whether its policies or the people who work during day/night get to use their own discretion regarding this)? As we walked out, I saw 4-5 staff members all in black standing in front of the kitchen on their phones. There was maybe 1-2 tables of other customers in the whole place. They weren't busy and the staff didn't seem to be anxious to work and make tips but were more interested in something on Facebook. I can't rate the food bc the hostess lady was so adamant about how they can't move furniture (with the owner's permission?) and unaccommodating we didn't eat there as we no longer trusted them to not poison us. I also therefore cannot rate any of the items below and NO they were not kid friendly or even people friendly. Viola,.....I remembered your food and services being good 20 years ago (maybe it was different owners or ppl running it?), but now I will not be back after 2pm.....or...

We went to these restaurants based on great reviews. But were disappointed. The lady at the front who does all the seating arrangement is also the owner of the restaurants so I was told by our server Steve. We didn't have reservations so we were explained that they will accommodate us in two separate tables which was not a big deal to us. But when we were seated as a party of 5 the table next to us was available and that table accommodate 3 people so the owner decided to give that table other people who had just walked without reservations. And made the rest of family wait for the other table that accommodate only 2 people. They weren't mindful of the fact that we were waiting way before everyone so they could have easily accommodated us first. We ended up waiting for the other table for 15 more minutes. By the time our food was ordered and came the people next to us had already left. That was kinda a ridiculous amount of wait. I specifically told the server to put the appetizer and the entree together but our appetizers came in first but had to wait another 25 minutes for food. The food is about an average Italian fare. We ordered calamari, fish and chips and shrimp scampi. Calamari had more fried banana peppers breaded and fried to look like Calamari. We had more of banana peppers than the Calamari. Fish and chips were bland and bottom of the fish was soggy and the top was crispy.Fries were the star of the whole experience unfortunately. Shrimp scampi portion and shrimp size was good but the sauce was runny and full of chunks of garlic and parsley. Our server never told us about the specials they were offering. When it came to bill paying they add 20% gratuity automatically for party of 7 but they had us sitting in different tables and had us ordering food at different times. So I don't think they deserved to add gratuity automatically. We love to give 30% gratituty for great service but this whole experience was subpar. So in conclusion, if you have NO reservations DON'T GO!!! And certainly don't if you have little children and more...

As actual REAL and TRUE locals, unlike the owner Helen, and a LOCAL GUIDE for Google Reviews , this was an absolute tongue biter for me and my family. Especially for my soon to be daughter-in-law and my wife. Napoli Pizza, or what is now "Violas" while may have "decent" food, has absolutely no decorum or customer etiquette. I, we will never go back to do a full review. Upon walking in, we were "greeted" by a very snot nosed server that either hates her job or how we looked. I guess you need to be "dressed and pressed" to eat here now. No more leaving the beach after surfing and grabbing what used to be a great pizza. "Helen" actually had the audacity to call my son a liar about being a local because he didn't know its reservations only... And I quote, " You know how I know you're liying, because we've been the owners for 7 years and it's always been reservations only." How dare you, Helen! My family and I grew up here. Maybe you should go back to NY or wherever and stop PRETENDING to be an actual real local. You are not. You're what us true locals call " new money." And it isn't welcome because it comes with a cost, an ignorant attitude. I'm sorry we don't dress like you and your "hoity-toity" customer base. We just feel it's best not to flaunt our money, it shows absolutely NO CLASS. It was only when our son explained that he had only gotten take-out and lives on his own in Treasure Beach now. As a young, successful business owner, her attitude quickly changed towards him and us.. but still no apology. I see, Treasure Beach = $$$ to you. Way to judge a book by its cover. The memories my soon to be daughter-in-law and family had of coming here after a great day surfing and enjoying the beach are no more. After many, many reviews I've done with 100k views and 1.5 million views of my pictures, this by far has to be the worst. My advice for anyone going to eat here is to come dress and pressed.. Don't want to give off the wrong impression. BTW, it's a pizza joint, not a 5 star restaurant. Get...

Went here on a whim, and I'm sure glad we did! The wait was about 40 minutes, so in the future, I would probably get a reservation. The service was superb. You are immediately greeted and welcomed by the staff. They are genuinely happy to see you. The customer experience is very important to them. We sat at the bar and got some excellent recommendations right away. We ordered the garlic knots, and they weren't your typical dense dough. These were if you crossed pizza dough with biscuit dough. The knots had layers, and they were so light and fluffy. My wife said they needed a little salt but otherwise great. We also ordered the hot rope sausage, which was smothered in their delicious marinara. It was spicy and porky, just beautiful. I had maybe two bites while talking with a couple next to me, and i turned around, and the plate was gone. My wife inhaled the dish and got the waiter to get rid of the evidence. Will order two next time! We ordered the lasagna and veal marsala. My wife couldn't stop talking about her lasagna and mentioned how flavorful it was with a special callous to the meat being good and not lost in the other flavors. My veal marsala was rich and velvety. I don't think I breathed while I was eating this dish. Apologies to everyone around me. I really think this summoned my inner cave man and didn't think about manners or any of the refined niceties. Special shout out to the couple that shared a bang bang shrimp with me. Thank you! The crispy shrimp was cooked perfectly, and the sauce I cannot say enough about it. Creamy and sweet with a slow and elevating burn that never got too hot. Just perfect. This is hands down the best Italian food I have had in St. Augustine. If you think there is better then fight me! Just kidding, let me know so my head will explode since Violas is my idea of perfect.

It almost feels like I visited a different restaurant than most of these reviews! We went around 4:30 on a Wednesday so there was no crowd. The food came out fast and the staff was all very kind! However, the food was mediocre at best. The best dish of the night was the cheesy garlic bread that we ordered for an appetizer! For our entrees, we ordered 3 cheese ravioli with alfredo and penne with alfredo and blackened chicken. Both dishes were lukewarm and the alfredo was heavily under-seasoned. It seemed like the sauce itself was probably just parmesan, cream, and garlic (fresh). Although the plates had additional parmesan and a dried Italian spice blend sprinkled on them, it lended very little flavor to the dishes themselves. We also ordered a side of roasted potatoes, which were hotter than our pasta but still under fairly seasoned. If the bill here had been $30 I think it would have been well worth it... But for $45 I'd sincerely rather go to a large chain. Disappointingly, we had to pay extra for both the bread and the side, which are typically included at most restaurants. Even the salads cost extra to order with an entree, although they are 'discounted.'
