Waffle House — Restaurant in Florida

The unit manager, Dakota, is a bit nuts. About 6 weeks ago I ordered a Sausage Egg Cheese sandwich with 3 pieces of sausage. WH has a way of making a big sausage patty by combining the three sausage patties into one patty and when cooked right, just about covers the bread. This particular morning they cooked the sausage patties separately and pressed the meat to being almost paper thin. The cook asked me if it was alright, to which I said no, and then he made another. Instead of making a patty again the right way, he cooked the three small patties in such away that it looked like a three leaf clover. Kind of a triangle shape and it was still wrong and the manager, Dakota, wanted to be argumentative about it while I am a former Grill Operator who knew what I ordered and how it was supposed to be cooked. It became clear to me that for what ever the reason, they were not able to cook the sandwich Waffle House Way. I told them, "Never mind, don't worry about it." and that I would just go to another Waffle House. After about 6 weeks I end up going to the same Waffle House on 3/29/25 at 7am. I had been there a few other times when Dakota happened to be off, since the failed Sausage Eggs Cheese and had just resigned my thoughts to understanding that I can't get that sandwich at that WH and I ordered something else that morning. At a few minutes until 7am the manager, Dakota, comes out on the floor walking toward me. I said good morning and then he said good morning and then he said, "the last time you were here you walked out without paying for your food." He was accusing me of stealing. I pointed out that I didn't pay for anything because I didn't consume anything and that I never got my food because you guys didn't know how to make a Sausage Egg Cheese with 3 patty sausages. Instead of apologizing to me for not being able to cook my food right and letting me know he cared about what he serves his customers, he decides to double down on being a horses ass and telling me that's not going to happen again. I told him, I can eat somewhere else. He said that would be fine. So, I paid for my coffee and went to another Waffle House where his District Mgr was cooking and we discussed it. She said she didn't understand why he was getting hung up on a sausage sandwich. I agreed. Something isn't right with this guy and his ego. I reached out to corporate with a complaint last week but haven heard back, which is disappointing and the motivation for this review. In the mean time, if I need food near Pine Forest Road, I will be going to either IHOP or Sonny's Barbeque, but I will be skipping that Waffle House until they get a manager who cares about...

We had a wonderful breakfast today at Waffle House. They were very busy at 9 am , but that did not affect the quality of food, service, or the amount of time we had to wait to get served. In fact, we were in shock that we received our food within 4 minutes after placing the order. Roxanne, our server, was what made our experience so wonderful. She was made to deal with people. She did not appear stressed at all from being busy. She had a constant smile on her face when speaking to coworkers and guests alike. When we walked in, I suggested that we should go to a less busy location. I am super impressed with this Waffle House. It is located just off the interstate and is in an area that gets a lot of traffic. They were well prepared with cooks, servers, and a manager in order to give their guests the best experience. The food was just as we ordered it. The quality and taste of the food was superb. I could tell that we had an experienced server because of how she handled herself and her guests. ROXANN MADE OUR EXPERIENCE AMAZING. When Roxann leaves Waffle House to pursue her career, it will definitely be a loss for Waffle House and the food industry as a whole.. Haley was our server , she seemed not very interested in taking our order , I ordered the bacon deluxe burger , she forgot to call my bacon for my burger , so I waited to eat my burger till the bacon was cooked, I ordered hash browns with Jalepenos and cheese they took a slice of cheese and plopped on my hash browns. Waffle house prices have gone up but the quality and service definitely went down. I know places are short handed and people are trying to get by. But this was the first and last time I will visit this waffle house. My hamburger was dry as it could be and I had to ask for another tomato bc the one they gave me had brown marks on it. It was absolutely the worse exp. I had at a waffle house . My husband's breakfast was ok he said. But my food was horrible. None of the people working there wanted to be there. Oh and a employee came in and asked Haley where have you been? Her reply was " Around the corner and up your A$$_ !! Why real professional. It was not a pleasant visit at all. The cook did come over and say he was sorry about the bacon. That was the only pleasant thing...
