This is a true dive bar experience, complete with some paper plates and plastic silverware, but don't let the ambiance scare you, it's a true hidden gem if you're in the mood for fried food and wings! They do have several TVs with games going but it's not a fancy sports bar. It's a narrow building with plenty of seating but it is a little toasty inside. The whole place is very dimly lit and could use a really deep cleaning, but this did not take away from the food or service.
We came in for National Chicken Wing Day (on accident) and it was a fun coincidence that we were in the mood for some wings that day! We got a ton of food for 3 people, so do not make the same mistake. We got 20 wings, a small house salad, a small order of tots and a half order of loaded fries. None of these were small or what you would think of with a half order, so I cannot imagine getting large or full orders! The house salad hit the spot and the fries and tots were fried to perfection. The fries were still crispy, even loaded!
I liked our wings overall, the flats were juicy and hit the spot! The drums were a little over fried and overcooked in the really meaty parts, but I still enjoyed them. We got honey garlic and garlic parm as our sauces. Overall the garlic parm could have used more flavor or salt but I really liked the honey garlic! We would definitely come back. They have lots of deals periodically that would keep me coming back! It could be a good takeout location if you're not into the dive...
Read moreThe chicken wings were phenomenal, that was he redeeming factor for this place though. Walking up it's kind of decrepit and in serious need of a facelift. Walking in, I've seen worse, but it also needed a facelift due to outdated decor (football stuff in mid April?) And exposed cabling (I mean a bundle in the back corner). Staff seemed to be untrained as me and my GF werent greeted by anyone (one other table seated so not busy), so we sat ourselves. We were given menus and asked what we wanted to drink, I had a soda, my GF asked for more time to look (for a drink menu). Upon discovering the cocktail menu (lackluster, basic menu) she asked for about 4 different beers before hitting one they had (no don't tell your customers what beers you offer). Moved into food which was painless to order, as more people walked in the server/bartender seemed to get overwhelmed and seemed unable to handle the load (still light for a bar). Draft beer is served in a frosted mug (which causes excess foam and dumps water into the beer, killing flavor). The server didn't check on us again until we were practically done eating to see how things were, at which point we asked for a to go box and the check. For the price it isn't bad, but if you can find something...
Read moreWe've been going to this place for a couple years, now. The service has been declining recently. A couple months ago we had gotten the wrong order, we chalked it up to an accident being we've never had an incident, ever. A couple weeks ago, we took friends there, ordered the special boneless wings (which previously were almost as delicious as the bone in) and were thoroughly disappointed in them. Today, we ordered a regular Cajun curly fries and got a half order, sour cream and chives wings with medium sauce and didn't get any sauce with it, hot wings with garlic and parmesan and got mild sauce (I usually order medium and it was really weak), and sweet Cajun wings (which were delicious). I called to make a complaint and the woman who answered and took my complaint told me she was going to talk to the girls who took my order, then I heard in the background their conversation about the complaint and the girls who took my order said, "I don't want to talk to him," and then got on the phone. I asked her to put a note in my account due to the errors and she told me they weren't errors, there's nothing for her to do. I'm not going to stop going to this place because of the history, but more incidents like this will make me look elsewhere...
