I really wanted to give them 5 stars: Upon entering it is a nice clean space, 10 tables or so and well appointed. They were half full and had people in line (4 including myself) waiting to pick up or order food. There was one service staff member working the front and it was a bit busy for her. One of the guys in the kitchen came out to try and assist. I waited about 10 minutes to place my order (this was a bit vexing), process was easy enough. I had 3 tacos; 1 chicken, 1 carne asada and 1 carnitas. accompanied by their red salsa (made with Chili De Arbol) and a side of rice. Taco's @ $2.59 each were a good deal. Rice @ $2.99 for 4 oz was NOT a good deal and lacked taste. Chicken taco: Meat was moist, balanced and flavorful paired traditionally served with cilantro, onion, lime wedge on a corn tortilla. YUMMY (7/10) Carne Asada: Meat was tender, plenty of flavor but not so much so that you couldn't taste the meat. traditionally served with cilantro, onion, lime wedge on a corn tortilla. Again very good (8/10) Carnitas: Meat was tender and moist, cooked in lard just like it was meant to be and all the flavor that comes with it, the lard that is...the more traditional hint of orange peel and cocoa cola were unfortunately absent from what was otherwise really good carnitas.(6/10) The "Salsa Roja" was excellent! (10/10) Just enough heat to make you break a mild gleeful sweat, but not so overbearing that you can't taste your food. Next time I will try the Al Pastor and the Seafood Ceviche Tostada I was told they are both on point. I would hope that they focus a little more towards customer service and this place will do great, as I am sure they are...
Read moreFirst off how does a Mexican restaurant of this quality not offer guacamole at 5 o’clock in the afternoon we placed our order and they said they were out of guacamole there’s a publics 1 mile down the road it’s a Mexican restaurant in you’re not offering guacamole obviously they didn’t order avocados because when I ordered my beef salad there was a paper thin slice one slice of avocado on my salad It’s not brain surgery it’s a lack of management/ownership
Second don’t quote someone 10 to 12 minutes and I get there in 10 to 12 minutes and end up waiting 25 minutes for one item while the other four items sat in the window which made the quality the food average at best I would just assume someone say it’s gonna be 45 minutes and I go and pick it up apparently they forgot to do one dish so all the food except for that dish set on the counter in front of me for over 25 minutes
Third if you have a Covid mask policy it helps if it’s enforced as staff had masks around their chin and their necks while preparing food they would put them on when they came out to the front do the cooks not realize there’s a 1‘ x 3‘ window that looks right into the kitchen
Finally have a manager there have someone that can make a decision have someone that can lead a team someone who cares because it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had on a to go order since March and of course we...
Read moreTacos y Ceviches is one of my new favorites! I just discovered this place in August and have been there 6 times.
Tacos are excellent! Empanadas are great! Tamales - both Mexican and Peruvian options are perfect. I need to try other menu items but these are so delicious it's difficult to not order them.
On this most recent visit, I had the mango guava cheesecake and it was quite tasty! Hopefully they make it in house - I'll be even more impressed!
The waitress that's always there to help me (Rosemary?) is excellent. Always friendly and smiling. She informed me the owners also own El Gaucho Inca Peruvian restaurant here in Fort Myers. Oddly, I have dinner plans with friends at El Gaucho Inca and had no idea it was related to Tacos y Ceviches.
Give Tacos y Ceviches a try -...
