Visited My N.Y. PIZZA for first time today. Keep hearing it promoted by a local internet and TV show so wanted to give it a try. Terribly horribly disappointed. I was virtually the only customer there and it took them almost 15 minutes to get my pie in the oven. Seemed to be very inefficient and not FRIENDLY at all. I had decided what I was going to order based on the menu I saw online. A large pizza is listed as 18"s online but when I received my order it was a 15" pizza, I have pictures to prove it. The box it came in is 16" square. Not like any New York pizza I have ever enjoyed in my life. This extremely thin cracker like crust reminded me of a cross between a RED BARON frozen pizza and a Shakeys pie but much more like the quality of the cheapest frozen pizza you can buy. I knew I was paying $20 for my pie prior to ordering it and had high expectations for that price point but was just totally let down. Toppings very low grade and sparsely used. Ordered Pepperoni , Sausage and Salami. The Pepperoni was a slice smaller in diameter than a quarter, the sausage had no flavor and minute little lumps and I never was able to detect and Salami at all. When I received my pie to go I opened the lid and was instantly disappointed at what I saw, or more so what I DID NOT SEE. I took it like a man and chalked it up to an experience I'd unlikely repeat. The owner may have detected my disappointment from my face and he said " we put the toppings under the cheese" because you couldn't see much on the cheese. Drove the 4 1/2 miles home and the pie was virtually cold when I got there. I felt as though I was carrying an empty box but to be fair I weighed it on my commercial scale in my home at 2lbs 10ozs. including the box. My children were satisfied but because it was bland just like children can appreciate. I don't think I'll be visiting MY N.Y. PIZZA again mainly because the pizza was so disappointing but maybe as much as the bad taste left in my mouth from the establishment itself. Too bad though, was really looking forward to.much better and a new go to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDrove out with the wife and kids to find a NY style pizza since I seen one on TV and was craving to try one out. It's was good for what it is. Not 100% sure if this is authentic NY style since I'm not familiar with NY style pizza. I probably could have rated it a 3 but I feel it was a fun enough experience for me and the kids. The pepperoni pizzas were a bit over cooked and my ladies Alfredo chicken was a bit doughy. The salad was good but the ceasar dressing tasted like it had thousand island mixed in with it but maybe that was authentic ceasar dressing I really don't know but I know I did eat it. My girl got a calzone but it came out by the time we were already done with out pizza's, and our appetizer garlic bread came out after our pizza too. The garlic bread was heavy oiled and the marinara sauce was fridge cold and a bit watery. I would say their prices are a bit overpriced but not by much. The server was a nice young man. But maybe some inexperience all things considered I still had fun eating a giant pizza slice and spending time with my kids and wife. Food is probably a 6/10. The environment 7/10. Menu would make me return. They have beer on tap I would like to come try with some buddies. But I would/ will definitely come back with my kids, since they enjoyed the pizzas. We came and sat down it was empty but there is large seating arrangements and plenty of TV with games on. They had basketball on one baseball highlight on another. So next time I might just catch a game with a beer and pizza with a couple of local friends. It's a bit on the adult level you won't find kids games and prizes here, but a buncha beers on tap and some pizza to...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePizza place in Ontario CA, they advertise āNew York Styleā pizza. I am rating this based on my experience/opinion of their pizza only, with the āPersonal slice - Supremeā being that itās a pizza place, that should be the one thing they get spot on, keyword is should.
+Friendly service, they explained their menu selections well +The decor certainly feels like a proper pizzeria +They have a shared bartop table option that I thought was a nice addition
-I have been to New York and have had a couple different popular pizza joints, News Flash - IMO this is absolutely not New York Style Pizza, that is fine, but donāt claim to be something itās clearly not.
Why is it not New York style?
Itās the crust, and itās flat out bad in this case, it should not taste like a biscuity frozen pizza crust, I've tasted this exact flavor on frozen pizza before. You wont find that in any decent Big Apple pizza joints. Just because you have large and thin pizza doesnāt make it āNew York Styleā here is a tip⦠find a different crust recipe, maybe hand toss it, then maybe you can redeem the attempt.
-The cheese is weird, and greasy, and lacks flavor, this is nothing like Im used to from a restaurant quality pizza.
-Toppings seemed of low quality, there wasnāt much of them and what was there had very little flavor.
-Not enough sauce, but it provided some needed tartness that prevented this from being a total flop.
I donāt understand the amount of positive reviews here, I hate leaving bad reviews, but this is truly one of the worst Ive tried, and Ive had pizza from all corners of the country, and other countries as well⦠I will say their wings looked good, maybe...
