I had a deeply disappointing experience at Taj Cafe, largely due to the appalling behavior of the owner. Not only was the service slow and disorganized, but when I expressed a concern about my meal, the owner was outright rude and dismissive. Instead of addressing the issue with professionalism or courtesy, he made me feel uncomfortable and disrespected as a customer.
It’s baffling to experience such hostility in a restaurant, especially when you’re simply trying to enjoy your meal. The food itself wasn’t anything special either, but the owner’s treatment of me and my party was what truly ruined the experience.
I’ve never felt so unwelcome in a dining establishment. As a paying customer, I expect basic respect and decency, which was sorely lacking here. I will not be returning, and I strongly advise others to avoid this place until the owner learns how to treat his customers with the respect...
Read moreIndian food at its best! Was looking for good Indian food and found the Taj Cafe. Service was excellent, and I was greeted right away. The guys behind the counter were very polite, courteous, and friendly. Ordered up some spicy butter chicken, some paneer tikka, and some garlic naan. Clean and spacious restaurant. Wait, was about 20 minutes for food to come out. One of the guys even offered me free tea while I waited... The food was superb, butter chicken was creamy, had plenty of chicken, and, nice spice. Paneer Tikka is also amazing. Great portion of cheese, and I loved the pickled onions with chilies. Chilies were even more spicy than the butter chicken itself... The garlic naan was not soft... This was the only thing I was kinda let down on. Other than that... Amazing food, humble hospitality, at good prices. Without a doubt, I would recommend and like to try more...
Read moreThis is the BEST Indian buffet I have found in SoCal!!!! It is SHOWSTOPPING!!!! In my experience it is better than all the Indian buffets I have been to in LA by a large margin. Reminds me of the authentic Indian food I grew up on back home. FINALLY!!!! Most customers eating there looked to be 1st generation Indian which is always a good sign!!!! The flavors were on point and the food was actually spicy!!! As in, not catering to the mild American palate which I appreciated. They also had chai tea and I loved how they pre-added the sugar in as the sugar levels were perfect!!!! And the Kheer was PERFECT!!!!! Naan was delicious and made to order. Staff were exceptionally attentive and accommodating, and you can tell that they really care about what they do. If I want to eat at an Indian buffet I won't go anywhere but here. I think I've found my holy grail...
