First Choice Cafe — Restaurant in Forest Park

I am not from Georgia and I’ve lived here for 6 years. I haven’t tasted good seasoned food like this since I lived here and I’m tired of the typical restaurant food. I have paid over $250 for good food at the best pricey restaurants and I’m still not satisfied with a home taste from mom, grandma’s and auntie. This year 2021, was the first year I didn’t cook myself, and it was also the first year my husband had to work on Thanksgiving. I was a bit disappointed and I felt sad and alone. That’s until my husband came home with food from this little place. Let me say; I don’t eat a lot but, this food reminded me of my grandmother’s cooking. Everything was so deliciously satisfying.(unfortunately I didn’t like the desserts) Nevertheless I wouldn’t give you less than 5 stars because the main meal was outstanding. The stuffing reminded me of the homemade dressing my auntie use to make. Anyway, when I’m looking for a home cooked meal with a home taste (not from a typical restaurant) this will be my new place to go. Thank you all for being open on this Thanksgiving Day of 2021 and also remembering what good food taste like when anyone is away from home. I can’t wait to come visit...

I desperately wanted a good piece of chicken and an exceptional waffle, so I looked up the combo and was directed here. I didn't even know this place existed, but now I'll never forget!

The very first thing on the menu was Chicken and Waffles at an incredibly reasonable price. I was 2pc hungry, so I got both the wing and thigh. Perfection isn't a word I use often, but uhh...

Sakes alive! I burned my fingers being too greedy to wait to get into that golden, beautiful bird. It was a totally acceptable pain. And the waffle... sheesh. I almost cussed. As a matter of fact, I told the whole staff I was Big Mad at them for how good everything was.

The second visit, I got the French Toast sandwich with sausage. Dang it. I'm still angry... They're lucky they were closed when we went last Saturday or all h³ll would have broken loose!

My food was over all great for my first experience visiting first choice cafe last week. I enjoyed my scrambled eggs and croquettes.. but whatever you do stay clear from the pan potatoe. Beyond nasty even though cooked properly. They need to just kill the recipe b/c the seasonings they use on them just isn't tasty but off putting. Even the person I dined with had the potatoes and agreed. I gave 4/5 stars because I paid extra for the nasty potatoes and my food was plated incorrectly with grits which I specifically asked not to happen because I hate grits. At this point should have not done the potato addition and ate the grits. 💁🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️😁. Either way I will...
