Hong Kong Express — Restaurant in Forsyth

I love coming to HKE for lunch.

In my opinion they are a great restaurant in the Forsyth area.

They have drive through/carry out options for on the go, apart from their normal buffet/dine-in experience . They also offer delivery with a $15 minimum to my knowledge, but I have never tested this service.

As for the food, the quality is slightly above average for a Chinese food restaurant... I can’t quite figure out why, but I think it’s because how fresh the food is on a typical day. They are priced correctly for their location and food service genre.

Buffet items I gotta promote would be their fried shrimp and chicken. Not something I reach for at a buffet normally but there is something about the breading that’s makes it EXCELLENT!

I gave them 4/5 stars because the hours of the restaurant frustrate me. I’ve tried on 3 separate occasions to take my family there and the restaurant is closed during what I would consider normal operating hours for a restaurant. This is probably because of the size of Forsyth, but that doesn’t get me fed so one star down.

Tried this for the first time today. We ordered a sesame chicken combo and an orange chicken combo with 2 additional egg rolls. We received cold egg rolls, cashew chicken, and orange chicken. We didn’t have time to go back once we realized. The cashew chicken was not very good. I have never had cashew chicken before so maybe it’s supposed to taste like that but I was definitely not a fan of it. It was also not what I ordered so that didn’t help. The orange chicken was decent so husband was able to eat for the most part but I had to force myself to eat a few pieces of the cashew chicken. My dad and mom have been house bound for a few weeks recovering from surgery. I live in Iowa . I called and ordered them a surprise delivery from your restauant. I was super impressed with the person taking my order on the phone. I told them my dad had been without ice cream for weeks (devastating for my dad! ) The person on the phone helped me pick out my order. I was told they don't deliver ice cream because it would melt.
