Restaurant attached a Best Western Hotel. Cash & credit cards accepted. Extremely friendly staff. Quick service. Extensive menu options. Some 'American' dishes offered. Margaritas & beer served. English & Spanish spoken.
If you're looking for really authentic Mexican food this isn't your best bet. Food is passable but barely. However the staff was fantastic (hence the 3-star instead of 2-star rating). Smiling & personable.
Chillaquiles were dry (enchilada/ranchero sauce absorbed into the chips) and not very flavorful beyond salty. Rice and beans seem like they come from cans. The cheese on the small side of lettuce & tomatoes was melted so too long under a heat lamp or perhaps a microwave.
Small portion chimicanga was indeed smaller than the regular menu size but again, not a memorable experience. Sopitos looked less like thick tortillas and more like 2 regular corn tortillas stacked. Reports are that the al pastor burrito was a very tasty option, though, so it may just depend on what you order.
Ambiance is dark and heavy (lots of dark wood) but not unpleasant at all. As a whole the food tasted canned rather than fresh, but the staff made it bearable with their...
Read moreThis place is muy excellente! Our favorite restaurant in town by far!
Their food is themed: earth, sky, and sea: they serve beef, chicken, & fresh sea food in mouth watering, authentic presentations. I highly recommend the Molcateje (volcano), served in the lava bowl, hot & bubbly- but it's also pretty spicy! The other we love is "Cielo, Mar y Tierra" (sky, sea & earth). Their flank steaks are always charbroiled to perfection, too- very tender & juicy! The enchiladas are great, too. It's all wonderful. Prices are great. We spent about $50 for our anniversary date night for all that is shown in the pics, plus complementary chips & 3 dips.
This is a fun place to bring out-of-town guests, to go for a tasty lunch, to bring a date, to bring the family, give a gift certificate, or just grab a drink after work (full bar).
The seating is comfy and updated, the staff is friendly & efficient, they play real Mexican music, it's clean, good atmosphere, fresh food, great taste, great margaritas, definitely recommend this place above all others in Fort Dodge. They'll...
Read moreVisited on 7/1/25 between 3:15pm-4pm. Slow service when its dead empty inside a space with seating for over 100 patrons. Walked in and waited up front while 1 worker is just sitting at the bar watching a spanish soccer game (never got up once) & another is in and out between the work area up front & backroom, before finally coming to seat me 5 minutes later & another working the kitchen. Another party of 2 came in 5 minutes later and that was it before leaving. Did take longer than expected given time of day with no patronage. Restaurant/BW hotel location is out on the NW edge of town, had been some former BBQ place (Buford's) 2-3 years ago based on Google Street View... suspect according to the map on FB check-in, this restaurant used to be inside or right outside the mall before it got torn down and moved into this hotel restaurant space. Food was decent for the price & the waitress was friendly, but speed of service when its dead inside...
