I recently had an unpleasant experience with Allspice Jamaican Restaurant through an Uber Eats order. I was excited to try their food, but things took an unfortunate turn. After placing my order, I received a call from the restaurant informing me that they didn’t have the items I ordered. While I appreciated their offer to provide substitute items, I was disheartened by their refusal to cancel the order on their end. Instead, they insisted that I cancel on my end, which would have resulted in an unnecessary fee for me.
This situation felt particularly unfair as the lack of item availability was beyond my control, yet I was being penalized for it. When I expressed my concerns to the restaurant, their response was far from accommodating. It was unprofessional and left me feeling disrespected as a customer. I ended up reaching out to Uber Eats customer service, who thankfully managed to resolve the issue by canceling the order from their side without any charge.
For potential diners considering Allspice Jamaican Restaurant, I urge you to be cautious. This experience highlighted a lack of accountability and customer service from the restaurant. Ensuring that the items listed are available, or at the very least, handling unavailable items more professionally, would help in providing a more positive customer experience.
In summary, while the food might be appealing, the customer service is lacking, and I found the entire interaction to be distressing and inconvenient. Consider this review a warning about the potential challenges you may face when...
Read moreThis review is long overdue. Spent about a week in Miami and unfortunately didn't get to do alot of what our group planned, so unplanned visits were bound to happen. This Jamaican restaurant was the best unplanned visit I had. The beef paties are good, the oxtail is good, the stew beef is good, the currry chicken is good, the brown stew chicken is good, I can go on and on. And here is some advise for newcomers: Get a couple beef paties and a small order or any stew like protein. My favorites were the oxtail and stew beef. Dunk the beef patty in the gravy and get ready for a flavor explosion. The food here is made with love. I wish I took photos of what I ate, but I always forgot because by the time it came to mind the food was gone. Their trays are also very gernerous meals. There can be a wait depending on what you order, but believe me its worth it. I never had an issue waiting for my food. Finally, they have these drinks kept in the fridge. The carrot juice is really good. Overall, highly recommend this spot.
That said, there is something you may not want to order here. It's the jerk chicken. Its on the sweeter side and isn't very tender. Even given that, couldn't give this 4 stars. Alot of the other food is...
Read moreThis was my FIRST time here. I received a notification of top 5 Jamaican spot in Fort Lauderdale. I’ve been wanting to try it out but would always end up at Donnas.
First thing first I walked in the restaurant and no one was around… 3 seconds I hear a woman saying be right out. I loved that acknowledgment. Didn’t get her name but she was very pleasant.
All meals small and large comes with a soup!!! Big plus. I was in the mood for some light chicken soup, but they had red peas and beef. Would have never tried it if didn’t come with meal…. It was delicious but not one piece of beef but still good (free with a meal I’ll take it lol) The steamed veggies and esco fish cooked to order was delightful. Not to many spots do fish cook to order the way it should be done! Great job Chef, The favor, the spice the texture was there and on point. Now I want to try the jerk chicken next time if its anything like the fish as far as HEAT! Tired of have jerk chicken that taste like regular baked chicken. I will see hmmm lol
The oxtails were good like falling off bone good. The rice was perfectly cooked and unlike other Jamaican spots asking for extra gravy...
