The best place to eat on Sunday; the buffet has a large variety of homecooked southern style foods. There isn't a buffet in the state or perhaps around that can compare. With tender, flavorful steak strips, seasoned grilled pork chops, crispy fried chicken, cod fish, fresh from the garden greens, fresh fried squash, fresh green beans, fresh corn on the cob, butter beans, juicy, never dry macaroni and cheese, cabbage, sweet stewed apples, and fresh yams on the hot bar along with homemade potatoe salad, pickled beets with chopped onions, creamy cucumber salad, and fresh fruit on the cold bar, along with a choice of desserts: homemade lemon or vanilla ice cream, apple crisp, bananna pudding and more, this bar is definitely one you'll come back for, and I only named a few of my favorite selections. The bar also has bar-b-que, turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce and other items. Most of the items are available every Sunday. I haven't been disappointed with the choices served yet, and I have frequented for years. The only downside is the restaurant closes at 2:30PM on Sunday, and expect a long line. Amazingly, the line moves quickly and there is never a long wait even when the line extends outside the restaurant doors. I highly recommend the Wagon Wheel Sunday buffet. With a reasonable price of $12 per person for garden fresh southern style food, it is a hidden treasure for people visiting the area; they may...
Read moreWe went there on Valentine's Day, and it was really busy. We didn't know that we could have made reservations since we are new to the area and thought it was a buffet. We were told it would be an hour, but I believe it was more like 45 mins. Turns out it was a sit down resturant and only has a buffet on Sundays. We ordered off the Senior's Menue. It was limited, I believe only 3 dishes, but it was nice that they had it. It comes with the salad bar. Truth told, I was full from the salad bar before my fish ever came. Their coleslaw was to die for! I didn't even have room to try their beets (pickled beets are my favorite). We saw the fish was fried, and we would rather have it broiled, so we asked. Turns out it was something like eighty-five cents to change it to broiled. Fantastic! We were expecting a small portion of fish, but it wasn't. It wasn't because I was already full either. It was a nice full-size portion. It was very good even though I couldn't eat it all. It came with a baked potato, and that was a bit hard. May have been the type of potato because it was cooked, just harder than I personally liked. That potato was big. The rolls were good, too. As busy as they were, we had great service. We will definitely...
Read moreMy biggest complaint is they would not let me share a plate with my child. Nor would they let us order a child portion because she was 14 years old. You have to be 12 years and under. Neither one of use eat very much. I ended up leaving half my food. If it had been better I would have taken it with me for lunch the next day, which is what I usually do, but it was not good at all. My chicken was dry and her shrimp was very greasy. My husband ate the rest of our daughter's shrimp. This is not an "all you can eat" restaurant so I don't see why we couldn't share a plate. We would not have gotten any more food than what was brought to us. I guess they want to make sure they make plenty of money on everyone who comes in the door. The only good thiing I can say is you get a lot of food on the plates so you better be hungry when you go and have some Zantac in your pocket. YOU'RE GOING TO NEED IT. Also, they take cash only, no checks or credit cards. How...
