KiKis Egg House — Restaurant in Fort Meade

My friend and I had breakfast Sunday morning on 12/31/23. We don't know if Ana had a bad morning already, as we were there about 730am or what. We placed our order. Received it. The only time Ana came to our table was to bring coffee to my friend, and that was after my friend placed her cup at the end of the table. As for me, I was drinking hot tea and she never asked if I wanted more, I had to ask the owners wife for more tea. Not did she ever ask how our meal was. When she did give my friend coffee, she never cleared off the finished plates. Then, she brought the ONE check, at the same time asking us if the meals were separate, INSTEAD, of asking when she took the order. When we told her no, they were separate, she crumbled the check in front of us, with a you've got to be kidding attitude. I did get the owners attention and explained our experience with Ana, as this was my first time here and my friend has eaten here many times before with no problems. He did apologize and my friend saw him immediately go to Ana and speak with her. When she brought back the two separate checks and took out payments, she did not acknowledge or apologize to us for the improper service. TIPS... To Insure Proper Service. Great decor and vibe when you first walk in. If you sit next to the kitchen you will hear lots hollering for waitresses to pick up their food, in a rude manner most of the time. I do not recommend sitting in that area because it's difficult to carry on conversation with all the hollering. Food is portioned out very generously and plated beautifully. The food is quite tasty however, the menu items are not all prepared and cooked daily. It's stated in the restaurant everything is homemade and "fresh" but there are several items that are already cooked/frozen before being prepared a second time. Some are even not cooked by Kiki's at all and are sold with the impression they are. A waitress informed me of this on my last visit here when I asked about the freshness and I am very thankful!! I would have thought otherwise. Parking is a definite issue and often times you have to park at the bar next door and walk across the street. I have seen cars piled up, unable to move because the parking lot is so small. I give 3 stars all together as it's good but certainly needs several...

First take out order from Kikis. I ordered at counter, meatloaf, okra, yellow rice and salad, second order, meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw and noodle soup. The bag was heavy when I took it to car. Got home opened mine, the said was fresh and complete, not just a tossed lettuce and tomato,but had cucumbers, cheese, onions, then opened my meatloaf. I had two very large and thick slices, a large portion of yellow rice and okra. My other order for a friend was just as loaded as mine. The taste was great. It had flavor and seasonings. The same with other order. Huge well worth the prices and reasonable. The service and atmosphere were great. Friendly and fast but not rushed. Plenty of happy help. Like a big family.
