R & L Delicious Bakery — Restaurant in Fort Myers

My husband and I ordered a cake for my daughter’s birthday for a total of 15 people. We made it very clear what we wanted, sent pictures of the cake she chose and specified what kind of cake and filling we wanted. When we picked up the cake we were told that it was accidentally made for 50 people. Which we accepted at no extra cost. At no point in time did we get told that the inside of the cake was changed from what we ordered. We live about 3 mins away from where we picked the cake up. Within the hour of bringing it home, the cake started to collapse in on itself. It was a heavy cake with no support to hold it up. Then when we cut into the cake there was chocolate and lemon layered filling on the inside. We specifically told her that we only wanted vanilla, vanilla cake with vanilla filling. We sent her pictures of the collapsed cake and the inside of the cake as well. She got very argumentative, saying that she had to use chocolate to hold it together and that there was no lemon in the cake. Everyone in my house tasted the filling and agreed it was lemon. Alls she said was that we accepted the cake when we picked it up and that the movement of the cake must have caused it to collapse. Again, we live about 3 mins away and we’re super careful with the movement of the cake. She was very rude on the phone, kept saying we accepted the cake so it was our fault. Which means they try to duplicate european pastries. They do a good job. Except the items are less sweet than true european bakeries. Perfect for the local yodels. My birthday cake went in the trash! Needed something quickly! After searching the internet for what I needed, I called. They could help me out! I really was in a big fix!
