All right, being born and raised in Southern California if you live in Florida you understand the pain of not being able to find good Mexican food. .. actual Mexican food. Look no further, if you were accustomed to eating at Roberto's or Adelbertos or whatever your favorite taco shop was, you will find that here. This is family run with aubelita in the kitchen cooking all the food fresh and ready to order. They have a variety of horchata, and Mexican plates and burritos. I'm 💯 positive that if it's not on the menu, they will make it for you. The red sauce was perfect in flavor and yes it's called red sauce, not taco sauce. I had the machaca and eggs plate for breakfast, and the carne asada street tacos for lunch. The pico was delicious and the beans were so good that I gobbled them up, and I don't even like beans. They weren't dry, and pasty, they tasted very good and had the perfect texture with a sprinkle of cotija or panela. Other than the delicious food here I bought 3 packages of house made tortillas. Which they can make custom sizes. Something I've been looking for, for a while now. Since we struggle to find a real Mexican taco shop here we have to make our own carnitas burritos, carne asada burritos, Cali burritos etc. And it's super hard with the tiny store bought tortillas, so ordering their large tortillas will make that easy from now on. I miss the Mexican lady on the street corner selling fresh tortillas with melted butter, but Sonora Eats gives me hope that I have finally found the Mexican food I've been looking for. I'll update with photos as I try more entrees, please support this locally owned family Mexican taco shop, they also told me that they are at a farmers market in downtown fort pierce on Saturdays. Quick note, the tortillas are so good, you'll regret not buying two bags. Don't just get one, it will be gone before the next...
Read moreI’ve been reluctant to post this but my experience here really bothered me. I came in on 4th of July looking for a breakfast burrito. The owner was there alone and there were zero customers. They were very helpful with the menu and helping ordering. When it came time to pay I used Apple Pay, I tapped to pay and the owner quickly manipulated the screen so fast that I didn’t even realize what he did. The food was decent but not better than the hole in the wall I usually go to, I got less food for more than I would usually pay and didn’t stay to eat it. When I looked at my receipt after getting home I realized that the owner had tipped himself about 25%. I’m all for tipping when there is a service provided but that amount should determined by the customer, not the owner of the store that quickly taps a button on the screen without my permission or knowledge. I will never return to this place because of this experience and I hope that the owner doesn’t do this to the existing customers that they already have.
NOTE: In addition to my poor experience the owner replied with a condescending response instead of just accepting the fact that they were wrong and taking accountability. My review was based on factual statements; their response was based on emotion. My meal for 3 people was about $37 (including the tip they gave themselves). Your comment about being “messy” is laughable because I’ve never sat down to eat in this place. It was lunch time on a Friday, there was no one there; FACT. No longer considering changing my review. If you don’t like America and the liberties we have here then you should consider opening a business...
Read moreWent with my family, and we tried a lot, but not enough. We had the Quesabirria, Asada taco, and Fish taco. I had the Quesabirria, which was so delicious and full of flavor. I also took a bite of everything else, and the fish taco had so many layers and depth of flavor that I couldn't believe it.
Also, the Horchata was the best I've ever had. The owner let us try the Cebada (barley drink), and it was great too, and my wife, who grew up in Tijuana, said she normally hates it and said it was great as well.
Will definitely be back and tell everyone I know to try them out. Best and most authentic Mexican food around.
P.S. Don't leave without a pack of their homemade flour...
