I'd driven by Aunt Toadies on US Hwy 54 in Ft. Scott, Kansas hundreds of times but never stopped. After all, who would eat at a place with "Toadies" in the name?! How WRONG I was! If you're looking for upscale expensive keep moving, but you like a low key, simple joint with really good home style cooking and a friendly family-owned atmosphere with reasonable prices this is A GOOD ONE! I had the Plastered Chicken (charbroiled breast with Swiss Cheese, Grilled Peppers and Onions, Sautéed Mushrooms) and it was EXCELLENT! Try the fried okra as a side. They also brought out a fresh loaf of bread while we waited for our order. Cutting into that, watching steam rise then melt the butter was oh-so-good! My companion had a well-dressed cheeseburger and suzie-Qs. I tried it, very good too. Thumbs up! I'll be back soon!

Took my family of 7 here and the staff was so friendly and helpful. They put 2 tables together for us in a mostly full dining area. The waiter was very friendly and helpful must of been the boss or a manager because he gave amazing service. The place is very old time feeling and has lots of interesting decorations it’s very beautiful to look at. The food was amazing and they give you a lot of food for a very reasonable price I was so shocked. They have a wall where you can put your name and draw or write a note that was very cool. Definitely will come back and try more food from here absolute best service I’ve had in this town so far.

If you are in Ft Scott Ks and are hungry.. you gotta get over to AUNT TOADIES.i had the pork tenderloin sandwich with hand cut Suzy Q's. So delicious. Great portion size. I was greeted promptly upon entering and my server was awesome. They have plenty to choose from on the menu and have a section dedicated to smaller portions. Although I won't have room for it, they serve home made pies, cinnamon rolls and shakes. Loving it.

My sister and I had the best time at this restaurant. The fried pickles are to die for , they were so good and you get a lot it’s not a little single serving , it’s a table share. I had a bacon cheeseburger and it was really good. the coleslaw was excellent. The mashed potatoes and gravy was really good and my sister loved the fries And her chicken fried sandwich which was a tenderloin ha ha ha service was excellent. It was a late Sunday afternoon, When we went by the restaurant about 11 o’clock on Sunday morning, it was busy really so we knew it had to be good. And it did not disappoint. The decor of the building was very nice very clean , service was excellent. Couldn’t say enough good things about the service and the food was great. Try the...

Got seated, then another group got seated about 5 minutes after we did. Waitress immediately took their drink order, brought them drinks, brought them bread, took their orders, then approx 10 minutes later finally came to our table. Wait time was really long and two people next to us were very upset because they ordered before at least two other tables that had their food and they were still waiting. One guy was so mad he just took it to go when his food finally came out. Waitress did not come back to refill drinks, finally had to wave her down from across the room. Food was good when we finally got it but staff needs to keep customers in the order they were seated so wait times...
