Rich's Cafe — Restaurant in Fort Wayne

Food quality's gone down over the years in some areas and prices have gone up like other places. For breakfast meat, they only have pork products (was okay before my family became kosher) so it took longer since I typically order breakfast items when eating out. Although the waitress was trying to help me with possibly subbing the meat for maybe 2 pancakes (the meal consisted of 2 French toast slices, 2 eggs, 2 pork sausage patties) she was told by the lady in front/I heard with my own ears "there's nothing we can do about that, she'll just have to still pay for the meal ($10.99 mind you) get it without the meat and pay Ala cart price for each pancake."

For other meals they still have fish (on a certain day or time they've got all-you-can-eat fish, which is pretty good ($14.99)) and other meats on the menu. I ordered nachos from the appetizer part of the menu ($7.99) though (never ordered this here before) and the chips tasted stale. When asked how the meal was, I told the waitress the chips were stale so it wasn't the best and she said "yeah we get that a lot"...🧐. My uncle got a breakfast skillet ($10.99) and his potatoes (they call them home fries) were burnt and he said when he told the lady at the front, when paying, it didn't seem like there was much concern about it. We decided we won't be back but hey, somebody's experience can be different. The 4 stars for service is solely for the waitress's service, promptness of checking in and friendliness. The 4 stars for the atmosphere is because it's typically quiet, clean, easy to checkout, has a comfortable home vibe and seeing mainly elderly and families...

Trash. I went there a while ago and got breaded mushrooms and asked for ranch, and when it got there it didnt have ranch, so i ate a few and asked if i could get ranch and she said she'd have to charge me even though the ranch is supposed to come with it. I was salty but i said whatever just give me some ranch. Then she came with a whole nother order of breaded mushrooms with only 1 cup of ranch for the new order, and i said to refund it and just give me ranch for the first order and she got mad and started acting i was the one being rude. All in all she refused to refund it and charged me for new breaded mushrooms and a cup of ranch i was already supposed to have. So i vowed to never go again, but i gave them a second chance, and they fumbled it. I guess cajun chicken sandwich means a piece of chicken with bread and cheese. They acted suprised when i asked for lettuce, tomato and condoments. And the nachos might as well be microwave nachos, the sour cream they gave was fake. I wouldn’t even give them one star but didn’t have a choice. Worst service n food I ever had. The steak was so rubbery n tasted so bad, baked potatoe was hard n couldnt even mash it bc the fork would bend, not enough butter. I asked for more dressing for my salad n never got it, dad asked for more gravy bc wasn’t enough n was getting cold n she said it would cost him more so she brought him more n brought it to him n did charge him by the time he got the gravy his food was really cold, Dorothy couldn’t eat the bacon bc it was also rubbery, the waitress never came back to ask us how r food was, n threw the receipt on the table n when asked for a container to put salad in was so small barely fit n then it wouldn’t stay closed bc the hook brook. When we paid bill they didn’t even ask how it was n asked if we wanted to buy any gift certificates, r u kidding me...
