UPDATE to my original review below:
We contacted Salsa Grille that same night through their website to express how dissatisfied we were with our experience. To their credit the next day (July 9) a manager from Salsa Grille reached out to us to apologize for the service we received and offered to give us a credit towards our next order as a way to try to make things right. It was very appreciated, but still made me concerned they were going to make another error.
On July 10 we did choose to order again and did so online as before, so we could use the credit. As part of our order we again marked "no chips" for each entree ordered and they still included chips for each entree. We again marked "no cheese" on each entree and this time no cheese was included as requested.
So to sum it up our second order was a better experience than before and so I changed my rating from 1 star to 2 stars . But still think that those fulfilling the orders need to slow down a bit to really read customer notes much more closely so they get them right.
ORIGINAL review from July 8, 2022: Just got home from picking up our order and if I could have given zero stars I would have. Our online order clearly stated "no chips" (see photo of receipt) for both meals and when we were handed our order there were two bags of chips clearly included. When we explained we'd marked "no chips" because they are not part of our diet he gladly took them out for us. Once home we opened up our food containers and noticed one very big issue the order clearly has sour cream or queso slathered all over it. Also not part of our diet as we avoid dairy and definitely didn't order it (again see photo of receipt where we marked "no cheese"). Then in addition we noticed that some corn (pictured) which we also had not ordered and is also not part of our diet had been put on top of our food. Guessing the corn had slipped into some of the items we did order and that is why it made it into our meal. Still really sad to me that they aren't taking better precautions when preparing customer meals to avoid cross contamination of items dropping into other items while preparing orders.
So, a brief run down of tonight:
All this made for a very sad and very very discouraging experience. Doesn't give me a lot of confidence in this establishment and we paid for food that does match our diet ... what a waste!!! ☹️☹️ No plans of going back ... just...
Read moreWell... I'm not sure what happened today but they were way off their game. I've been a Salsa Grille fan for years but something was different today. I ordered to go and here is what I found when I got home... My chips were full on stale (like yesterday's chips left out all night) my guacamole was definitely yesterday's (sad, decomposing looking goo that gave that hint of the onset of fermentation tingling the tongue) and when I popped open my George's Hot Salsa to help soften up one of those stale chips... well... I was greeted with the lovely smell of rotten tomato. It's really quite an unmistakable, wretched smell. "How could that happen?" I can hear you saying... I'd sure love to know! But at the moment I'm just wondering about the quality (and age) of the rest of the food in my bowl (that I was so looking forward to eating...) Today's experience was one of those moments that could very well redefine my personal list of good restaurants. Salsa grille, just so you know, we (all of your customers) don't want old food. We don't want you to be "cheap", we want fresh food made with good, fresh ingredients! If you are trying to save a buck by serving old food...don't. You'll kill your brand and ruin your customer's trust and loyalty. I'd rather pay a little more for good, fresh food rather than sit at home wondering if food poisoning is on the...
Read moreI encourage you to hire a new curly haired guy. I don’t know what his role is at your location in front of the YMCA is but he makes up some new reason for why things operate the way they do here. I was charged for 2 adult sized bowls for my 5 year olds. Clearly, they’re children they spoke their order to him. It’s pretty obvious they were ordering children sized bowls. When I got to the register asking for kids sized cups he speaks up telling me I should’ve told him the bowls for my kids were kids sized. I guess the 5 year old speaking his order wasn’t obvious enough. When I questioned him he did nothing yet the portions he gave were the portion size my children receive when we order a bowl any other time and were charged for a kids bowl. I’m not sure how the pricing justifies adult charge for kids portions and an additional charge for the kids drinks that are included with the meal. It’s always something from the service, the attitude, the lack of organization on the line to the justifications he comes up with when we come here. I dread coming to this location because of him I would rather drive out South where I’ve never had a problem. My complaint is not about the food it’s about this employee...
