To be transparent, I believe the food earns 3 stars. However, there are so many 5 star reviews on here, I felt the need to balance things out as, clearly, most of those reviewing have no idea how Indian food should taste.
However, if this is your first time having Indian food, (not Nepalese food masquerading as Indian food) and you have an adventurous palate that can handle some spice, it will probably be a delight.
I would say depth of flavor was better than average, but the flavors were just not complete. Something was missing in both the chicken curry and the butter chicken.
Texture was wrong on the garlic naan. It was a little too thick overall, and too uniform so one doesn’t get the mix of crispy and soft textures of a truly good naan. Seems like it’s maybe factory made naan that’s reheated from frozen.
This is another situation where the cost influences the score quite alot as well. If this were $8 to $10 a plate, well then at least we’d be getting a great value for, decent at best, Indian food. But the prices are in the 14-18 dollar range.
So, if you live in north Fort Worth, this will be the second best Indian food you can get, behind Palate Garden which is only little better.
However, if you can get to Herbs Indian cuisine in the North Richland Hills area, or India Grill in south Arlington, the prices will be similar but you’d get truly Great Indian food.
Response to managements message:
I am not a fan of South Indian or Nepalese cuisine. It’s too spicy in the south and they don’t use much cream. I understand the flavor profiles from your area and my comments were...
Read moreTook down my last 5 star review which I posted a week ago. May be they served well (customized food) because they wanted to get the customer.
Second time they didn't pick up the phone when I called three times. When I asked the owner lady said we have big order and do not take calls at that time.
When my wife wanted to customize the food the chef came from kitchen and said we make food in the morning and serve as the orders come in the day.( I hope it is made daily (not weekly basis and served for the week)). I was under the impression that I am eating fresh made food like other places, chilies, Olive Garden, Pizza etc. The mix paranthas were good to eat but in chicken curry was too much water.
The attendant(cashier) girl said sorry we had big order today and didn't serve you. I was like I am paying for it(it is not free food).
MySelf Thinking-------If in the 2nd or 3rd week of opening restaurant you have this much attitude and disrespect for customers. I do not know what will happen in 1 year.
Suggestion to the owner---- Put a notice on the board/online that you can't serve individual customers as you have BIG oder, then eventually no...
Read moreI recently visited Jugni Restaurant, and I’m sorry to say that my experience was very disappointing. First, I’d like to address the behavior of the young girl who took our order. She rolled her eyes as we ordered and displayed a complete lack of customer service skills. It’s unacceptable for front-line staff to make customers feel uncomfortable in such a manner.
Unfortunately, the food also didn’t meet our expectations. We ordered Paneer Chilli, and it had far too much tomato ketchup. It felt like we were eating paneer with ketchup, not the authentic Paneer Chilli we were expecting. The Paneer Bhurji, which we specifically requested to be spicy, lacked any heat, and all we could taste was turmeric. The same problem applied to the Saag Paneer—it was bland, with turmeric overpowering any other flavors.
The combination of poor service and disappointing food made for a really unsatisfactory experience. I’ll be advising my friends and family not to visit until improvements are made in both staff attitude and food quality. Please take this feedback seriously and work on...
