Mica's Tortilleria Y Taqueria — Restaurant in Fort Worth

If you're in to late night heaters and gifting the crowd with a little friends in low places lick on karaoke, then we already know you've been to the Poop Deck before. What you probably didn't notice is the hole-in-the-wall taco stop practically next door. Taco Tour 2017 landed at Micas Tortilleria Y Taqueria for its third stop on the tour and is here to spill the beans (pun intended).

As the TT2K17 train entered Micas, we noticed the relatively small size of the taqueria and signs of wear and tear across the walls. There was a floor fan assisting with some A/C and for most of our dining experience, we were the only customers in that b...alone with our thoughts and Ricardo flexing his mustache on the soap opera airing on the tube television. However, as they say, never judge a book by its cover. As we stepped up to place our order, we began to notice the taco plate came with 4 (not 3) tacos. This was an immediate Taco Tour 2017 Power Play. This allowed the group to sample that one extra carne which may have otherwise gone un-tasted. Carne selection was Asada, Adobada, Barbacoa and Carnitas. Each taco came with the normal fixings in addition to a little cabbage on top, which was a game changer. The Adobada had oodles of flavor and was above and beyond the #1 carne. For those that think Adobada is a magic trick, it is actually a variation of your traditional pastor. The Taco Tour 2017 Play of the Day was a side order of Tostadas, which gave that perfect crunchy mix-up to a soft taco plate. TT2K17 highly recommends the taco tostada stack for anyone trying to live on the #edge.

Poor salsa selection, lack of a good green sauce and chips which were a bit too thick were some additional negatives TT2K17 noted, but the tacos were the star of the party and they did not disappoint. However you slice it, Micas' is going to deliver terrific tacos (and tostadas) and you're not going to leave hungry or disappointed.

Side-Play: If nature comes calling and it's time to drop off a crawler, the bathroom is surprisingly clean and relaxing. Extra points for sure.

Only go here for breakfast tacos if you want to be disappointed with every other breakfast taco joint. The lady behind the counter greeted me with a smile and even though we could barely understand each other, tacos are a universal language, and boy does she speak it.
