Poorly managed location. When you walk in great locations, you're greeted upon entry and return a greeting. Here, you can be first to say hi and go unnoticed. That's on the management to train employees Wafflehouses culture and standards.
I had to ask for a server, ask for coffee, ask for a spoon, then get up and ask another server when mine blew my polite request off.
My job as a customer? Show up, show up hungry, show up with a smile and good attitude, be prepared to pay and tip well according to service. I did that.
Their job? Everything else. I left after coffee because my server came to work bent out of shape, not wanting to be where she chose to work.
I paid another server to cash me out. Coffee was $2.50, gave her a $20, and told her to keep the change but promise to not give a cent to the server that just couldn't be bothered with customers. Her manager should have put her off the clock and told her not to return until she was prepared to bring her professional self to work.
I still ate elsewhere. This location has awesome food and awesome workers, but for me, I don't need to keep going where it's a toss-up as to which day the team is on point. Managers set the tone or fail too. If a customer shows up, they did the hardest part for that business. We could have stayed home, or gone to over a hundred other places in the DFW.
Won't be back as this wasn't the first, second, third, or fourth time. This is the culture of Wafflehouse. This location is the Spirit Air, the Carnival cruise line of diners. We just can't act right, especially towards ourselves. If you...
Read moreFirst off I did not leave an online tip. I do not believe in tipping before receiving product. I was planning on leaving a $5 cash tip. I did not leave that tip for the following reasons.
This place usually alright, but I tried online ordering for the first time and got let down. They said they had no online orders to which I showed them my order details, to which the cook said, "I'm going on break", and wait staff started my order. While waiting for the food (a half hour past scheduled pick up) no one offered coffee or beverage during the wait.(*Granted - I was not expecting them to offer free coffe/beverages while waiting, just thought it would be good customer service...) When I got home realized they made both items on the order incorrectly. 1-incorrect eggs and under done waffle (edges literally batter). 2-missing cheese.
Additional observations while I was waiting. Not busy - only one couple in a booth. No excuse to miss an order. The bar seating dirty - puddle rings from previous drinks, trash and food debris scattered the entire bar. No attempts to clean up by staff hanging out in the back. No customer service - staff was uninviting, un-empathetic, and some down right rude. Would have cancled the order if option was available through app/online. I told the gentleman I am here to pick up my online order. He said Oh I didn’t even know we had any online orders. He said let me get started on it. Now, I watched customer after customer come in after me and order and get their food before me. It was not until 11:30 am I heard the gentleman say to another coworker, we have two online orders, do you want to do one and I do the other”? At 11:41 am, I watched a customer that came in well after me and ordered at the counter, receive their food before me. I asked the lady that handed them their food, that Ineeded to talk to their manager. She said the manager is not here. I told her that I ordered at 10:54 am and that it was supposed to be ready at 11:10. I walked to the counter and then told the initial gentleman I spoke with I want to speak with a manager. He calls over a young lady and I tell her my issue. She says, “I already made it” it was sitting on the counter. Now my food had gotten cold. I asked her her to remake it.
