I placed my order online, and I arrived exactly at the time it was promised. That was 1 hour and 10 minutes after ordering. I arrived and still waited almost 50 minutes more for my food. None of the kitchen staff are wearing masks. I guess they can violate state orders and spread covid-19 if they feel like it. It only took me 5 minutes to get the food home, and it was cold and not fresh. We had the trio appetizer and all 3 items were cold and didn't seem like they were freshly prepared. I had the fish and chips, which uses local rock fish. The rock fish was pretty tasty but the fries were cold, soggy and had no salt. We ordered the salad, and it was a very basic salad. It was iceberg lettuce with some tomatoes on top. That is not worth $12. We had ordered 2 additional sauces that they charged us $0.75 each for and didn't receive either of them. We had heard really good things about this restaurant, but the overall experience was negative. I gave 1 star because I don't really see any of this improving because they figure they are one of the few restaurants in town so they will get away with a lackluster...

Picture this: a rainy day on the Lost Coast of California. You wander into a little restaurant with windows looking out at the sea. You are greeted warmly and shown to a table. Within moments you are sipping a fabulous bar-made sangria and pursuing the menu. Your celiac husband is in the restroom, so you take the chance to explain it is your anniversary and ask if there is anything gluten free on the menu. Everything in the menu that night is gluten free!! We started with empanadas with a dipping sauce. Perfection. Then the Pabellon Criollo with rice and beans and tostones. Finished with flan with a caramel sauce. Every bite was a treat. Every minute a pleasure. Sure it’s 10 hours from our house. But we will...

My wife and I were staying at the Inn across the road, and decided to walk over to this Venezuelan restaurant. Wow! We were blow away by the view, the service, the food and the drinks!

We ordered the empanadas to start with, along with a beer for me and a glass of the Coates Sangiovese for my wife. Not only was everything absolutely tasty, it was also fairly priced!

We highly recommend the local caught fish filet dinner (we both opted for that entree). Everything on the plate was delicious! The fish was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The sides of plantains, coleslaw and potatoes were fabulous as well.

If we’re ever in the lost coast again, we’ll most definitely...

Amazing food and wonderful, friendly servers. So glad we chose to eat here. Even though they were busy Indiana took the time to talk with us and give us some family history and background of the restaurant. We had a crab empanada, fresh fish dinner and a Mi bowl...rice, beans, lettuce, avocado and chicken. Would definitely go again if we return to Shelter Cove.
