Food was very good, place was empty server unfriendly I live in fountainhills been here before but if your looking for service to be good and food stay clear cuz you’ll be royally disappointed on service server has know personality and won’t check on you, and is in a hurry to close restaurant early even though hours say till 8 pm plan on being kicked out early like 20 minutes before closing the place was completely dead I think this place is loosing money everyday there open owner is very nice and can’t speak for day shifts but night time crew could care less about customer service and they have gluten free options on menus that show a price but when you mention you want one of those items for example the string bean chicken dish plan on being charged an extra 3 dollars even though the dish is already gluten free kinda strange and then I get a response like that back crazy anyhow so they close at 8 PM but last night I was told when I got there at 7:20 over we’re closing at eight. I’m like I understand that and at like 745 she’s already trying to wipe down my table asking me as the customer to move to a different table crazy you should wait till all the customers are out of the restaurant before you start cleaning down tables nobody wants to smell Windex while they’re eating and as far as the price on the menu goes, it said that the price was whatever it was on the menu so let’s say the string bean casserole 14 what I’m saying is plan on adding another three dollars if you want gluten-free even though the menu shows $14 green bean casserole gluten-free that’s not the price that’s only the price if you don’t want it Gluten-free and if that’s the case then they shouldn’t put the price and then put gluten-free next to it because of the dishes already gluten-free for $14 that should be the price not $14 plus an additional three dollars. I don’t see that anywhere on the menu that’s crazy my father is a state legislator and I know a lot of politicians here in this town. I’ve been in Scottsdale my whole entire life. I spent a lot of money in the restaurant industry, and I know a lot of people. I really hope this restaurant decides to clean up their act. Hire more friendly people they used to have this girl that worked there that used to work at another Chinese restaurant in town. She was great super friend Server I met the owner before he’s a great guy unless it’s a new owner. I’m not even sure it was him that wrote back because he wasn’t there last night. It was this lady that was there. And unless she’s the new owner I don’t know what responding to these is the guy that I know he’s a really good guy and he owns the place, but it didn’t sound like him when the response came And I’ve known him for years the owner he’s a great guy. He runs a good tight ship that restaurant good person good person But he needs to hire more friendlier people to run his restaurant when he’s not there because the lady last night like I said had No personality she didn’t check on us at all, and then she got confused when we were trying to pair her and we still tipped her. Read moreThe first time i ate here it was really good. Great service and really good food. However went there last night and yuck. Server was terrible kept bringing us wrong stuff then wanted to debate with us about if we were sure we didnt order that. Then the main course came out and meh it was small portion with half a small bowl of rice this proves that consistency is not a thing there. We had to leave early from dinner because my son wasnt feeling good so we told the waitress the issue and asked for to go boxes it took forever. And thats not ok! The only thing that saved the experience a bit was when another waitress came over and asked how we were and if we needed anything. This place needs to step it up if they want to have a chance at staying open in this small town.
Follow up to owners unneccessary and rude response to my review: There were maybe 12 customers in the place and we were 5 of those people. So it was not busy dont try to make excuses for poor performance. And yes the portion sizes were less Ive eaten here before and ordered the same dish and couldnt even think about finishing it however last night there was no doubt that the size of the meal would be finished im not saying that ur portions need to be bigger im saying u need to be consistent. I brought more of my family with me last night and they were even more disappointed. Ive seen ur responses to other reviews and its clear u cannot take criticism, u need to let the public speak without putting in ur snarky remarks. Reviews of ur place help u do better. Read moreTried it twice. Both times were okay. I tried to substitute noodles for the rice as i cannot have rice, and they told me they couldnt do that. I have never been to an asian/chinese restaurant where i couldnt substitute noodles for rice. Not to mention on the menu, the fried rice and chow mein are the same price, not sure why they cant charge the same upcharge that they do with the rice.
