Saguaro Lake Grill — Restaurant in Fountain Hills

We stopped in after a cruise on the lake and were pleasantly surprised. Most places like this just have hamburgers, pizza and such, but not here. Upper scale menu with a good variety of options and prices were comparable to what you see out there now. Most of us had the Mahi Mahi Fish and Chips, with a Jalapeño Coleslaw, it was fantastic. Coleslaw was not too spicy and could really enjoy the flavors. Fish was a large portion and came with waffle fries. Another had the Loaded Caesar, huge portion, could easy serve 2. Lastly, the Alfredo Mac and Cheese “Burger”, which you can switch out for either chicken breast, turkey burger or vegetarian option. Our diner got the chicken, but thought a burger would have been better. Only suggestion would be a gluten free bun or bread. Let me tell you about the service, which was excellent. From the time we were helped to our seat, and waited on, by the most energetic and genuinely helpful server I’ve had in a while. (Make sure you sit in Bradley’s section.). Save room for the gelato! My grandparents recently went on their annual trip with their community, and unfortunately, this year’s experience was by far the worst. I was present when the community staff called ahead to confirm that the group could be accommodated. They were told it wouldn’t be a problem and that no reservation was needed.

However, when we arrived, we had to re-explain everything that was already discussed during the call. What should have been a simple request—separating the bill for 6–7 people—was made unnecessarily complicated. The service was extremely slow, to the point that some people didn’t even get to eat. On top of that, the servers were rude and unprofessional throughout the entire experience.

Overall, it was a very disappointing visit and a major letdown for a group that looks forward to this...

Ok, I know this restaurant is under new ownership but....DANG... you totally missed the mark! Wow! I had your fish and chips, it was a nice piece of fish, it was flaky, light and had a good flavor, but what's up with the waffle fries??? I felt as though I was eating cardboard! They were awful! Stick with real fries, regular, not waffle! Yuck! Your coleslaw needed more flavor it was flat and tasteless. Hamburgers are usually a staple at a grill, but PRETZEL BUN?
