We always drive by this place but decided to stop by this time. I’m so glad we did. It’s a tiny, unassuming, mom-and-pop place. It’s easy to miss from the outside, but the food is packed with flavor and heart. An older gentleman helped us. He was kind and low-key. It felt like it might be his restaurant, and that made the whole experience feel even more meaningful. We ordered banh khot and bot chien, and both were seriously delicious. The banh khot was amazing. It was crispy on the bottom, soft and creamy in the middle, with rich flavors. Paired with fresh veggies and the dipping sauce, every bite was delicious. I wanted more the second I finished the last one. It was that addictive. The bot chien was also great! It was crispy with a soft center, mixed with egg and served with a light soy-vinegar sauce. So satisfying and comforting, especially if you love street food-style snacks. Overall, everything felt homemade and authentic. If you're looking for something casual, flavorful, and local then this is the spot. No frills, just really good food and people who clearly care about what they’re doing. Support this small business! It’s 100% worth it. I’m already planning to come back, and next time, I’m definitely ordering double the banh khot! (Btw, they are closed on Mondays.)

I went to this restaurant for lunch and enjoyed the food. I ordered the Bánh Khọt, which I had also tried in Vũng Tàu during my trip to Vietnam. Compared to the one I had in Vũng Tàu, I would say the Bánh Khọt here is very similar. The only difference is that the ones here weren't as warm as the ones in Vũng Tàu. The shrimp were fresh and tender, and there were plenty of vegetables in the dish. The fish sauce was perfectly balanced. The restaurant is small and a bit old looking/design, but it's clean, parking is easy to find, and has very simple menu. I also appreciated seeing elderly servers working, as it's great that they support older people in earning money at their age. I'll definitely return to try their Hủ Tiếu.

Tiny quaint restaurant. Service is slow, and there was a bit of a wait. They were really nice but customer service isn't their forte. They accept credit card, Zelle and cash. Only 5 items on their menu, and we ordered one of each dish (except not the fried rice with shrimp). It was good but didn't exceed my expectations. I did really like their fried chicken wings- yes they were tiny but delicious! And the sauce was good too! The banh khot was nice and crispy, but done differently than what I was used to. I prefer more filling and it was just okay in my honest opinion... I loved the bot chien, though! It’s a must.. there was purple potato/yam? In it… And they also have papaya salad with our meal.

Arrived there mid-day, 3 tables filled with the customer, 3 more filled with dirty unclean dishes. The server greeted us and asked us to wait so he can clean a table for us. He did exactly just that, cleaning ONE table.

We ordered 1 bánh khọt shrimp, 1 with meat, fried rice, and 2 cokes. We wanted to try mì hoành thánh but were told they no longer serve that.

We like the texture of bánh khọt, it was thin, extremely crunchy, and crisp. Great job to the cook! The meat ones were very tasty too, the amount of meat was generous, and prepared just as we like them. The shrimp (with only one peeled but fresh shrimp per each) lacked other ingredients we were looking for such as mung beans and tóp mỡ. Ample vegetables and thinly sliced green papaya made up for what they lacked in the flavor of the shrimp. A big bowl of fish sauce is prepared just right as far as taste and amounts, along with separate chili sauce for those who like to spike up the taste. We recommend trying both shrimp and meat bánh khọt. The fried rice plate was just average for our liking, nothing was special. And at $1.25 for a 12oz can of Coke and a cup of ice, it was $1 to $2 less compared to other restaurants.

Don't expect to see empty tables without dirty dishes on them. We feel bad for the server, he was not a quick one, but it seems he is the only person there besides the cook. Good effort on his part to multi-tasking.

There were 5 tables filled with the customer, including us, while we were there. For drinks, we ordered Coke, one table just has water, and customers at the other 3 tables BROUGHT IN THEIR DRINKS FROM NEXT DOOR! Seriously!? If you're out to enjoy a meal please order some drinks to complement the food, not water, and show your support to the restaurant. Bánh Khọt Vũng Tàu prices are very reasonable compared to other places and bringing your drink in is not just rude but also ill manner. They didn't post "no outside food or drink" which means they have good manners, so please show yours.

We were keen on ordering fruit drinks as our (old folks) stomachs are not that strong when we see 80-90% of the patrons just have water as a drink, which made us question the freshness of fruit drinks offer there. A simple Coke goes well with just about any food, try one with bánh khọt next time you're there. Perhaps this will enable BKVT to hire some extra help.

We would come back again for bánh khọt and would recommend this place...

I will say.... for simple, straight to the point banh khot.... this place was good. The batter was good, and I liked the ratio of batter to topping. It was not too thick of a banh part. BUT - I will say I've had better banh khots that are a bit heartier and Maybe made with more attention, meaning ones that have the other Toppings on it. I was so surprised when the Shrimp one came out and it was basically just batter and shrimp. So basic. It was good!!! But basic is all. And it matched what we paid for it. So I'm not complaining. I'm just saying that be aware that it's that type of banh khot and not like others in more upscale restaurants. It's 5 stars based on the style of banh khot this place is known for. Service was ok. They were busy. There was a wait. I'd say it matched the ambiance and...
