The experience of dinning at this restaurant starts about 45 minutes BEFORE you arrive at the door and ends about 2 hours AFTER you've left.
1st. Check in at the base of the River Run gondola. 5 to 10 minutes.
2nd. Ride the 2 Gondolas for about 15 and 20 minutes respectively and enjoy the beautiful Colorado scenery as you climb to over 11,000 feet above sea level.
3rd. Arrive at the top of North Peak and walk to the main door of the Alpenglow Stube.
Have a delicious meal, catered by top of the line Chefs and servers. Their expertise and attentiveness is something you will remember.
The meal and buffet (brunch) options are limited, but that's probably because they focus so much on every detail that it really would be a problem to offer a larger selection of entrées. They focus on a few dishes and they prepare them very well.
After you are done with your meal, head back out of the restaurant and snap a few pictures from 11,000 feet!
Last, but not least, ride 1 gondola down after your meal and take a break in between Gondola rides. This year they had an ice fort for the kids and plenty of beautiful mountains scenery to continue taking pictures.
Finally ride the 2nd gondola down to the base of River Run and take it all in for the evening.
I won't comment on the price of eating at the restaurant because the gondola ride alone is about $35/person WITHOUT eating at the Alpenglow Stube. Riding the gondola when you have a reservation at the Alpenglow...
Read moreThe service should be ashamed of itself for even a fast food establishment (which this is priced far beyond). Our wine took until our main course arrived even though it was ordered before apps, main course was served with 1 out of 2 guests gone from the table (if you are going to call yourself a 5 diamond establishment this is a big no no), and we where rushed out at the end of our meal. The experience of getting there; taking 2 gondolas to get there in dinner hours and back was fun and the lifty's that service you, offer you blankets are the true high point of the dinner experience and honestly made the experience at least tolerable; very friendly and happy to help unlike the rest of the meal. They deserve all and the only praise of this food dispensary. Their are about a dozen tables that are lucky enough to be at a window to have a view the rest are not bad but again just like many other places out there at a far less quality. The food itself was ok; not bad but not worth the cost of the meal. Do yourself a favor and check out Ski Tip Lodge instead; the food, service, atmosphere and overall experience is second to none in the Keystone...
Read moreMy girlfriend and daughter planned for months to have our Christmas Dinner at this facility. I would rate this the Worst Experience Restaurant Experience in my life. The most unprofessional Management and Staff ever. The weather conditions were to severe for the restaurant to be open at top of the mountain; so they, moved it to the Keystone Convention center in a banquet hall. They never informed us that the menu would change from Gourmet (Duck, Elk, Pheasant, Buffalo) to a Golden Coral Buffet. Actually Golden Coral food and people are better. The room was overly massive and not decorated. All attendees were stuck into the corner. The Chicken was average, The Pork Tenderloin was very dry,The Squash Soup was Crap-came out of a can, the Prime Rib was actually pretty good. The dessert came from Freezer Section at local grocery store. The service was very non attentive. We didn't make a big deal of anything since it was Christmas Day and didn't want to ruin anyone's day. So we wrote three letters with NO RESPONSE. I would be Embarrassed and Ashamed to be the Owner, General Manager, and Chef of this...
