Had a craving for some classic pub food today after talking with an acquaintance up near Lancashire, so I decided to swing by to try the fish and chips I'd heard so many rave reviews about. The chips were good, if a bit soggy from the fryer grease (not that that stopped me from devouring the lot!), but the fish was the kind of thick-cut, crispy-battered, perfect-with-lemon, fork-and-knife-worthy meal I'd been missing!
The only real drawback for me was the price. $25 for the meal, drink and tip did put a bit of a dent in my college-grad-looking-for-work budget, so it might not be something I can get every other week -- but I'll happily tighten my belt if it means I can enjoy a nice platter of pub-worthy cod once a month!
