Came here to try their Mexican as I had seen the reviews were nothing but positive. The entrance to the restaurant is located past the outdoor seating area. The little left handed entrance is a take out counter I believe. It’s a seat yourself anywhere situation. There isn’t a lot of indoor seating but plenty outdoors. The restaurant is clean and has what I imagine to be traditional Mexican decor and colours. The chairs are hand carved and it adds a little unique flare to the place. They have quite an extensive menu on hand. You get complimentary chips and salsa. The chips are fried tortilla chips which are super crispy and tasty. The salsa is so good. It’s not spicy at all and has a good handmade flavour. I dined for one so I was unable to finish it all. I ordered the carnitas a la pollo which came with fresh flour tortillas as my choice. The tortillas were in fact very fresh and warm. So decadent. The chicken wasn’t what i expected. I had anticipated a shredded chicken with some crisp as this is what carnitas normally is. Instead it was chicken strips in a mex flavour with peppers and onions. It was still very good nonetheless. The guacamole was fresh. I don’t know how they make their rice but oh my goodness it’s the best damn mexi rice I’ve ever had to date. Their beans are also pretty tasty. Fountain drinks provide a generous serving and allow for one free refill. The portion size was massive- I was able to take home left overs for lunch the following day. Service was prompt and friendly- with a nice smile. She was very kind and polite. The food took a bit of a wait but it was maybe 10-12 minutes- nothing major. The restaurant was not busy when I went. They also do take out. It’s clean and well kept, though more dated. Definitely recommend this location. If I wasn’t hitting the road today I’d have loved to return to try a...

I unfortunately did not take any pictures of our food nor the place. We went because our friend wanted to go but I wish I would have spoken up and said let’s go elsewhere as soon as we arrived. (Even if we have to drive 30/40 min to find something else) anyway we sat inside cause outside did NOT look as cute as all these pictures and it was full of flies. We sat inside and it was not any better than outside. Flies inside. Bathroom was gross and smelled horrible very dingy looking. Like I said I should have left but unfortunately we didn’t. The food was over priced for sure and not great, my daughter had 2 carne asada tacos and was feeling bad afterwards. Other friend had the shrimp burrito bowl and half way through she went to the bathroom (I think to throw up) and never touched her food again. I had one shredded beef sope and that was mediocre. My stomach did feel off after but I think mostly cause I was grossed out just sitting there. The place looks like it’s falling apart and no one gives a damn. Save your money and go else where. You can thank me later. Or actually check it out and see if I’m being extra cause for sure all these reviews up in here are of the workers and family members cause there is no way it has that...

While it's a cute place, and the staff are friendly and accommodating, there was something else that stopped me in my tracks. The restroom. With a sign on the back of the door saying "Please do not flush toilet paper, place it in the garbage" (which I get, septic system isn't doing well) However said garbage can itself was full and overflowing. While I thought this was unsightly, I was just going to let it slide. But when I went to wash my hands and the SINK DIDN'T WORK in the restroom... That's where I drew the line.

From that moment forward I did not eat a single thing including the entree that I had ordered and never touched. Over 20 years in the industry and never have I refused flat out to eat the food because of something I'd seen .... this was a first for me. I have no doubts that it's a lovely place with lots of great reviews etc - after all a local family member there recommended we try it out. But after seeing the sanitation issue and the restroom, I wasn't going to risk eating and getting sick because of it there. Hopefully they've...

Had a really authentic mexican lunch when passing through. The restaurant is lined with 🏀ns and blow ups. When you enter you walk through the patio. Area to a smaller enclosed section with inside tables and booths near the bar. We were there at lunch time on Wednesday and were seated immediately. We sat in a booth near the bar. Only one server was working all the tables but server was still good. For starters we ordered two mango margaritas. Very festive and good flavor. For the food i have to say the pictures of the food are missing a few bites, could not wait. We ordered the steak enchilada burrito. The sauce was delightful and was a well sized portion,as well as, a chile relleno combination. It was stuffed with cheese and egg and completely solved my hunger. The outside seating area was larger than inside and had heaters. When we we there us was too cold to eat outside, no one did. All in all highly recommend eating here. It is about 4 miles off the freeway on the business loop but totally worth it.

La Unica is the bomb as far as we are concerned. We dined in the late afternoon, so it was not busy, and we had excellent service by Paloma. She was efficient, and kind, and very knowledgeable about the food preparation. She made great recommendations since this was our first time. We had margaritas and they were generous and very tasty. The chips and salsa, both homemade, were a delicious start to our meal. I had the veggie Molcajete and my partner had the Parillada. Both meals came with a large plate of beans, rice, and shredded lettuce. The rice and beans were very, very good! My Molcajete was absolutely outstanding and quite generous, so I took a good portion of my meal home. If I could give 10 stars I would. I’ve heard when they are busy at meal times the service is slow. Since everything is hand made, please be patient if you go at a busy time. You will not be sorry giving La Unica a try. Try to get in Paloma’s section, as she is just the sweetest and most attentive server ever.
