Family of 4 Review (2 adults/age 3 and 1): Servers were friendly, though we waited sometime for our check ( with little ones, that's tough). When i first arrived at 6:04, was told they couldn't seat non- guests of the hotel after 6pm. We were passing through back from Moab and there isn't much else around and grand junction was almost another hour. So I asked the manager if they would seat us being it was now only 6:08. She did, stating the resort had 160 people that night, so they were going to be pretty full. We didn't see it full during or after, but we were outside. Sat outside as it was nice to let the kids crawl/run around the courtyard without disturbing other diners. Ambiance was nice and clean. Our food: the kids meals seemed like a good value. The chicken fingers and fries were plentiful $7. Fries were the real deal, though the chicken fingers were definitely off the frozen, thick breading, kind. Their homemade ranch sauce was good. My husband's shrimp scampi $35, looked delicious and was plated very nice, with 5 or 6 large tail-on shrimp, but only a small portion of pasta. The pasta didn't have much flavor and really needed lots more lemon and garlic. My husband was still hungry when we left. Rib Eye steak was large, cooked right (med/rare), and was good, just not wow. It came with mashed potatoes (tasty) and broccolini (didn't taste fresh). No dinner rolls came before or during our meal (not sure this is something they do or that we were skipped). All in all, it was a peaceful, easy stop with the kids, service was friendly and the food was ok. At this price point, I enjoy being wowed with flavor and a few little extras ( i.e warm bread with olive oil/balsamic or a small soup/salad included...
Read moreCelebrated my daughter's 13th bday here yesterday. It was amazing. Our waitress Felicia was attentive, friendly, and had great taste- recommending many things that ended up being spectacular. She went above and beyond to make my daughter feel special, and honestly, was one of the best servers we've ever had in any reataurant. The guava lemonade was a much needed cool-down from the 100+ degree temps outside, the Achiote ckn tacos were out of this world, and the crispy Brussels were to die for. The smoked brisket was dry and lacked flavor, but the salsa collection made up for it. We ended night with flourless choc cake and salted caramel ice cream to celebrate, and she packaged up what we didn't finish to enjoy later. Her attention to detail was spot on. We walked around the restaurant/hotel grounds, played yard games, sat in rocking chairs as the sunset lit up the Palisade mountain, and went back to our Yurt. Truly a wonderful experience and we'd go back in a heartbeat. Thanks Felicia and Paradox Grill for giving us a very special night. We...
Read moreI am not one to write a sour review. It was my first time visiting the Paradox Grille and Gateway Canyons Resort with my family on my birthday. Needless to say, it was not a positive experience. The menu was not as advertised on the website. Food took an hour to come out, despite us ordering everything at once with no preference on what came out first. Our drinks were empty and we had not seen a server in 20 minutes. The only positive experience is that we were seated at an outside table given that we had a toddler. The crab cakes were overcooked, the olives in the dirty martini were rotten and the service was slow. There was no toilet paper in the stalls in one of the women's stalls. When we went to leave, I had a gift certificate to pay and had to wait for over twenty minutes while they had to call tech support to sort it out. Meanwhile, my family was outside waiting. Happy...
