I am not sure of these other reviews, I can not believe that they are speaking highly about the jumbo land in Branchville new jersey. I had just arrived home from jumbo land and it was a far cry from the praise I've read about. My wife and I came in to eat for our anniversary and left disappointed and with disgust. Upon entering this establishment, I turned to the counter where I expected to be greeted, asked of the number of people that will need to be seated, and then lead to be seated. The waitress did none of what was traditionally expected, instead, sat back as she glared at my wife and I with no intentions of interacting with us. I had told her that there was only the two of us to be seated and she responded to us with "pick a seat". Inturn, I spun around in a circle with my hands out randomly picking a seat for my wife and I to sit. I pointed at a window seat with the intensity of a sailor finding land after being adrift at sea for 3 months. My wife and I sat ourselves and waited for our waitress to take our order. Our waitress was young, kind and did very well at her job. We have no complaints with her performance. Though the food was flavorful and satisfying it was overall subpar. My wife ordered a buffalo chicken wrap which was very saturated and the wrap fell apart as she tried eating it, causing her to make a mess of herself in the process and eat in a manner that was unsatisfying. I ordered the chicken parmesan with spaghetti, this meal was also satisfying, however the pasta was dripping with water as if it hadn't been strained. The sauce then became saturated and made the pasta dish taste bland and literally watered down. During our time here, we would have enjoyed a conversation between eachother, but instead our ears were met with a cacophony of distressing noises that sounded like the glacier grinding against the side of the titanic. I believe someone was shoveling ice for what felt like the entire duration of our stay. It was distressing, distracting and took our focus away from eachother and our meal. Once our meals were finished, my wife had used the womens restroom and was disgusted with how it is being maintained. I am told that the toilet was clogged and full of fecal matter. The hand soap seemed watered down, as if they had added water to the soap bottle to make the most of what was left, "it was pink water, it didnt even feel like soap." My wife says. Needless to say, we were egar to be on our way out and on our way home. We understand that picking a diner for an anniversary dinner isnt fancy, we love diner food and read great things about jumbo land. People have bad days, food isnt always perfect, customers can make a mess of a communal area, loud work needs to be done during buisness hours at times. I understand that these are naturally occurring situations that take place. However, this was overall a terrible experience for us. We may or may not come back here, jumbo land isnt high on our reoccurring list of places to visit at this time. For those who enjoy it, we are glad this is a place for you to enjoy and feel welcomed, this is not the case for us and so Jumbo...

In December 2021, I went to Jumboland Diner for lunch with two young children. After I was seated, I approached the person near the cash register (who I later learned was the manager, Marissa) to request a high chair.
Instead of bringing me a high chair or instructing another staff person to bring it, she told me that they were in the back and I should get it myself. I thought that her response was rude and incredibly inconsiderate since I was alone with two young kids. Nonetheless, I did what I had to do but planned to share my feedbackater about the poor customer service I had received.
When we were done eating I approached Marissa and asked her if I could speak with the manager. Marissa stated that she was the manager and I then requested the number for the Diner. Since I had kids with me, I didn't want to have the discussion in front of them. So I planned to call the following day.
When I called the next day, I asked to speak with Marissa. She got on the phone, told me that she was busy and that she would call me back. By the end of the day she had not called me back.
I called Jumboland again on the following day. When I asked for Marissa again came to the phone and when I began speaking she hung up.
A few minutes later another woman from the Diner called me and told me to stop calling. As you can imagine she was very rude and had the audacity to ask me if I spoke English because I have an accent (by the way, my accent is British).
Here I am simply trying to give feedback about my customer service experience and I've been ignored, yelled at, accused of not speaking English and hung up on twice. But wait, it gets better.
I then get a call from Marissa's Dad! Yes, as in the manager of Jumboland's father. He left a voice mail in which he threatened me. He says he knows my number, credit card info and my location and that calling her again would be a mistake.
So apparently they assumed that I as a black man was only calling because I must have been attracted to their white female manager. Therefore, they acted like the sole purpose of my calls was to convince her to date me? I was racially profiled and accused of 'reckless eyeballing' while all I was trying to do was dine with dignity me an my 2 young children and recieve quality customer service.
I went to the police station and filed a report since I was threatened. Here is the message left by the father... Okay. I don't know if this is the guy that keeps calling my daughter at jumboland. If this is, I appreciate you to stop calling her Uh one more phone call. And it would be a mistake. We have your number. We have your credit card name and your location where you live. I'm telling you right...
