Downtown Diner — Restaurant in Frankfort

Why is customer service so difficult to preform here? I am a regular customer here, but each time I come back, I find myself not wanting to. This time I think I'll stick to my guns and not return for quite some time. I often get to go orders lately as I have things to do. I can not for the life of me receive good customer service from the employees. They ignore me as I stand up there. I get asked if I'm dining in and if I say no, they walk away instead of "How can I help you?". This place is NOT that big. Full house, yes. Big? No. There are enough employees to help out. But instead, they bicker at each other for taking each others tables. It is so unorganized here. The only time I'm well taken care of is if I'm dining in. I shouldn't have to dine in every time to receive the same amount of care and acknowledgment. I physically had to stop an employee after waiting indoors for 10 minutes, just to ask if she could check to see if my to go order was ready. She gave a slight huff and went off to check. And guess what? It was done. It probably HAD been done for quite some time. For the first time here, I did not tip. I was pissed. And I normally tip $10 dining in $6+ for to go. That is quite a bit for breakfast. It's normally a 30% tip. I am so disappointed with how things are running here. Take better care of your customers, especially your regulars. Wish I could get my money back from...

I was skeptical at first... Could such a small, old looking establishment actually serve up a real quality meal?

Well, I tried it... Not once, but 2, 3, 4, then 5, 6, 7, 8, and yes, nine times. And, you know what? This is now undoubtedly my absolute favorite dining establishment in downtown Frankfort, Indiana.

I'm somewhat leary of posting this as it's a rather small diner and therefore provides somewhat limited seating. I don't want to find myself not being able to get a seat following this post. I'm telling you that if this place had 100 tables, it would surely pack every table day in and day out up until their 2pm closing time.

Each and every menu item that I've experienced so far has been an incredible dining experience for me. I'll bet that once you try it for yourself, you'll quickly discover that the Downtown Diner does indeed serve up some of the tastiest home cooked meals that you've ever experienced. And, if you frequent it as I have been doing, you'll find yourself recognizing many regulars there that have long ago discovered what I have. What to do a review on this location because it was recommended on mine through news break through some of the audience I have there that I should go try the biscuits and gravy at this location that is the best biscuits and gravy in the state, and while I will say this is some of the best biscuits and gravy you'll eat in the state, it does not reach the best in the state. It needed more sausage pieces in the gravy mix for it to reach that goal had it had more sausage pieces in it I would say that it probably ties for the best in the state. But you will definitely not find a location that's going to provide you this good of food with this fastest service so definitely would recommend for anyone to go to this location to try this if you're in the area. But I would not say travel far away as we did almost 2 hours worth of drive time if you expect this to be the best biscuits and gravy experience that...
