Very very delicious food. That’s for starters. We were there on a Friday evening and because there was a large - Large walk in group the wait was a tad long but it was worth the while. We ordered vegetarian items but what stands out is the freshness. Starting with complementary papad ( almost non existent nowadays), and the pickled chopped onions - you can taste the fresh lemon in the onions instead of white vinegar from a plastic bottle. Soy chap was next. Ok, unless you ask for mild even their medium spiced food is spicy for us American Desis. The naans are fresh and fluffy. The fare js on the lines of a Punjabi dhaba in the delhi- Haryana - Punjab geography. The Makhani sauce actually tasted of fresh tomatoes. You don’t get that often with prices of produce through the roof. It’s all about canned ingredients! Not here. The cilantro chutney was delish. The tamarind chutney was tasty but had a hint of raw tamarind taste. Nit a deal breaker. Service: It’s been decades I’ve experienced such warmth and attention from a service staff. If my guess is right the owner/s were working the floor. Despite a long wait and a busy evening, the guy looking like Virat Kohli chatted with us for few minutes and kept us entertained! My little son asked the older gentleman who served our food for ghee for rice ( which is back to being complimentary on few places lately ) and within the minute we had a large bowl of grainy ghee in front of us. They didn’t serve water so we asked and we received 2 bottles of Poland spring. I’m thinking to myself - goes the upcharge! And they should have informed us Halfway through dinner I asked for a naan - just coz they were tasty. The person tending to us informed me it would take 10 min. I truly appreciated that. He didn’t care about the sale - again you don’t see this in any small (-ish) places. However when the bill came, the water was not there. The ghee was not there ! REALLY! In short - if you’ve read this in it’s entirety, great experience despite the wait. Loved to the true name of a PUNJABI joint! Warm service. Tasty food Wish them all success...
Read moreWow, Punjabi Rasoi was AMAZING. The food was so flavorful and delicious. The menu points out the vegan options and I hope every vegan passing through the area stops here (for SEO purposes I am just going to say vegan vegan vegan gluten free so people know the menu points this out - wish I knew this place was here sooner) - I mentioned that I needed dairy free and I thought I would just get the same plain dry roti everyone else's gives but nope they went out of their way to make it extra and even let us know that it was oil they used not butter!!! I would go back just for that. The samosa was the most flavorful samosa ever they really pay attention to details and flavor notes here. Definitely get the specialty drinks the Mango refresher I had hit the spot and my friends Mango drink (I forgot what it's called) was so pretty!!! Him and I were in agreement that this was the best Indian food that we had. Usually I feel like I get the vibe that I am in an Indian mama's house but this restaurant definitely felt like a professional chef was cooking each course. I'm dairy free pescatarian and they had so many awesome looking fish options - I got the fish curry and it was so yummy! My friend got butter chicken as recommended by the manager and he liked his dish too.
THE SERVICE WAS AMAZING. The woman server was so friendly and the manager Abhi literally made our night. He was double assuring me of what I could eat and was so kind when I asked him to double check to make sure there was no dairy (there wasn't any!!) He was so kind.
Don't let the look of the strip mall fool you, this was an awesome gem.
I met my friend here because it was half way from our houses but now I am definitely going to do drives from Morristown specifically...

We started with the Paneer Tikka Tandoori, and it was a true masterpiece. The paneer was incredibly tender and infused with rich flavors, while the grilled vegetables were impeccably marinated, adding a delightful contrast. The only suggestion would be to include a few more veggies/paneer pieces to enhance the value even further.
Moving on to the Maki Roti with Sarso ka Saag, it was a revelation. Despite expecting a heavy, butter-laden dish, we were pleasantly surprised by its lightness and authenticity. The presentation took us straight to Punjab, and the taste was simply divine.
Although we initially came for Chole Bhature, we were informed they were unavailable on Saturday evening. However, the Peshawari Chole with Aloo/Paneer Kulche more than made up for it. The flavors were rich, and the kulchas were perfectly paired.
To complement our meal, we indulged in refreshing Mango Lassi and Buttermilk, both of which were spot on and left us wanting more.
Service-wise, Kareem was our attentive server who guided us through the menu with patience and expertise. Additionally, receiving feedback from the owner further highlighted their dedication to customer satisfaction.
Overall, I would recommend...
