Spiros diner — Restaurant in Freemansburg

Excellent food, usually exemplary and fast service with a friendly smile, fair prices! What more could you ask for?... You want more?? Ok! How about this! Those deserts in the front case where you first walk in to the place? You know the one I'm talking about! Those pastries and cakes, and pies ( Oh My! ) ?? Guess what? Those are REAL! And they taste as good as they look!!! I'm not kidding here! I have never, NEVER , had a bad meal here. Not when it was Spiro's and not now as the Freemansburg Diner. This place is one of my favorites and a regular destination for me. Always cordial and friendly, and the food is fantastic. And if you still want more... The atmosphere is of a traditional mom and pop place. The kind I grew up with in those important childhood years when you first remember going to a diner, through to about your early to mid 20s , if you know what I mean or can remember for just a moment what that felt like ( this may only apply to those of us who grew up in Jersey sometime between the 1930s and the 2000s, they know what I mean.) But I sure hope, for your sake, that you can relate. It would be a shame if you couldn't. But I digress... This place? Has that! It has that feeling! Seriously! I loved this place when it was spiros. And now I like it. Feel like there French toast changed or maybe it was just that day. Rating for a 2 star was because I got take out and ended up waiting at the front cashier for about 30 minutes my food arrived to the counter and she rang up two other people and sat down 3 families before she decided to ring me up for my food again I literally stood right in front of the cashier. Maybe I'm to nice and needed to be more confrontational but I'm a local and this is local to me lol. Very nice diner with good food, attentive and friendly service and excellent prices. We were warmly welcomed and seated quickly. Our food arrived in no time! Good coffee. It’s a medium sized diner, with booths as well as tables and a counter with stools. Plenty of room to move about. Lots of local folks. Varied menu with lots of choices, and daily specials listed on a board. Some interesting desserts, baked on site. We tried the apple dumpling - it was huge! A whole apple baked inside a soft crust.
