Excited to try another local brewery but a bit disappointed on my first try.

Ultimately overpriced for what you get and the service system although maybe efficient for staff ends up eating into the enjoyability of the visit.

The good: Ambiance was open, kid friendly with a really friendly staff.

We had the Fresno wings which were really tasty and spicy. Pretzel was good. The burger was awesome. Crisp bun, juicy burger with a great sauce. I reccomend all the above BUT all was a bit overpriced, especially the burger considering it comes with NO sides for the price. In fact I don't think any of their pricey sandwiches come with sides. We also got my 11 year old an order of nuggets. Again overpriced, classic looking, frozen, super market looking round nuggets. Not tenders. Only 4. Comes with fruit.

My beer was ok. To be fair I only had one Pilsner. My wife had a lager which was very tasty.

The could be better: Speaking of beer I was disappointed that I couldn't get a flight. I usually sample a bunch to choose a nice 4 pack or two to go. I couldn't do a flight so I left with no beer to go. You might sell more cans if you sell flights?

Service Not a fan of the order system. We sit at a table go through a cumbersome phone ordering system that robs you of social time. You also can't order drinks so you have to go stand in a bar line to get drinks after you order food and anytime after. Again all of these separate ordering steps keeps you split up from your group. I came to eat and drink not stand in multiple lines. And on top of that you get steered straight to a 20% tip in every interaction. I worked in restaurants for decades, I am a big fan of tipping. I always tip 20% but I feel I am doing way too much of my own work to tip 20%.

Lastly, if you sit anywhere to the left of the bar near the kitchen you might end up smelling like a deep fryer. The oil smelled old. I actually had to move because of the smell.

In the end I would try the place again. Obviously others have had better experiences. Just be prepared for the possibility of spending more on everything than it...

Coming here as a vegan, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the Broccoli Rabe sandwich made vegan -- yummy eggplant, nourishing broccolini, and some very tasty sauce with the bun. I recommend asking to keep the usual bun, just lose any butter and the mayo if you want to keep it vegan. I'm not sure what the the cheese replacement was for the Ricotta, but it worked for me! I also had the already vegan Couscous Salad and it was again very yummy and healthful -- the mushrooms really worked for me in that dish. I was feeling indulgent and actually ordered two of the soft pretzels after I devoured my first one.

Obviously, they're known for their beer, and they did not disappoint. I started with the Prime, which is just such a smooth and dangerously drinkable IPA, flavorful too. Then I had the Cuppa, which was a nice lower alcohol English Mild option. Then I had a Lutro, which is one of my all time favorite sours. Definitely recommend if you're into trying sour goses. I finished with the Bonus Land pislner. All were very good, and I'd say personally for me the Prime and Lutro were the standouts.

The ambiance was nice, and we even played a game of Corn Hole outside after we finished dining. The whole interior is gorgeous, and I was particularly taken with the epic grey/bronze stone splashback behind the bar. Also as a millennial, I appreciate them anticipating my question for the wifi by having the password and network posted all around on little square laminated sheets. I met a couple of staff members, and they were very nice -- good vibes for me. Thanks for a great...

I didn’t overly enjoy having to scan a QR code to directly place my own order and then having to get out of my seat to go make a separate purchase for my beer. QR codes are one of those weird things that was born with COVID and probably should have died with it. It would be nice if I could have ordered the beer at the same time as the food.

The bathrooms were weird. Kinda cool though.

All that being said, the food was great. The Chicago dog was LIT. My wife got the hot chicken burger which was also phenomenal. My daughter got the chicken nuggets which I’m assuming are home made. Probably the best nuggets I’ve ever had. My son got a burger which was promptly inhaled. My wife and I split the spicy cucumber salad. I didn’t think it was spicy at all but the flavor really was top notch. We also got the cheese appetizer. The crackers that came with it will be recreated at home. The cheese was fire.

I don’t go to Freeport if I can help it but, I would definitely return to this restaurant.

Paper menus, and wait staff and separate male and female bathrooms would get 5...

Do not miss a trip to Gf Tasting Room and Kitchen! It’s a sleeper culinary destination… although it’s not entirely sleeper as it was pretty packed for a Wednesday night!! This is far more than a brewery (though the beer is out of this world). There are Fantastic cocktails and wine options for those who are NOT into beer. Food is atypical pub fare with an upscale vibe….. lots of salads, soups, and non-fried options. All delicious ! Don’t sleep on the griddled paneer sandwich, it’s packed with flavor and layers of homemade goodness! The grilled cheese and soup delectable. I could have devoured the kale salad twice and the oysters may have been some of the best I’ve ever had. Bartenders confided in me that all of their dressings, powders, seasonings are house made… it’s a true scratch kitchen, with rotating specials and a dedicated kitchen staff. Picture James Beard level chefs/foragers/fermenters preparing unpretentious goodness for everyone in the community. Don’t miss it!!! And I don’t always post reviews -but when it’s extraordinary I can’t resist!

Trendier type of "tasting" room with small plate selections. Stopped here after a long day of RV driving to our next camping spot. Always on the lookout for good beer. Plenty of parking in a large lot. Interesting patrons. Quite a few children. We had our pup with us, so we sat on the patio, which was empty. Had a great terrifying view of a couple parents chasing their toddlers around the parking lot for 10 minutes 😬. Ordered the house made chips and salsa and the miso honey mustard wings. Great job on the chips. Green salsa was flavorful. The wings had really good flavor as well. My wife had the Late to the Party Festbeer (a great example of a rich Octoberfest style). I had the Heart Throb Pale Ale (a delicious, hoppy pale ale with a hint of Simcoe giving it that piney finish a pale ale should have). Bot our typical jam in a brew house/tasting room. But an overall good experience.

We came for the spicy sandwich, we let our server know that we like the heat (my exact words were "I'm trying to cry"). The sandwiches came out VISIBLY flavored, and they were brought out by a cook who informed us that he grows his own Carolina reaper peppers on site to make sauces. The flavor and heat was absolutely amazing, and I did cry a few happy tears. The beer selection was awesome, service was quick and the brown sugar cookie desert was perfect as it was packed with flavor but not so overly heavy I couldn't eat it after a filling, hot dinner with a few beers. I picked up a four pack on the way out and I'm devastated that it's gone. This place is sadly nearly 4 hours from my house, but if we're anywhere within an hour and a half of this place for any reason, it's settled that it will be our dinner plan. I cannot wait to come back!
