Worse meal in a long time. Place was semi busy should have kept driving and went somewhere else. People waiting thirty minutes for the food while the cook was outside smoking a cigarette. Wife ordered a ham and cheese sub and it came out on two slices of bread instead of a bun and the only thing on it was ham and cheese. I ordered butter and garlic wings they came out with no flavor and they were over cooked to the point they were hard and dry so I sent them back for the flavoring with them was supposed to be veggies and didn’t get them, the girl that sat us asked what we wanted to drink I said sweet tee she said they had regular tee and I could put my own sugar in they had packets of sugar, anyone that drinks sweet tea knows there’s a world of difference between the two of them and she offered raspberry tea that in itself is an insult if I wanted raspberry I would have ordered it for crying out loud get sweet tea and throw out the raspberry tea.. Our waitress was wonderful the food was not her fault she felt bad about the food and that I said we would not be back, I left a five dollar tip as she was running ragged trying to keep up. We brought most of our food home I don’t know why we sure as heck aren’t going to eat it but the little bit we received with tip was $29.00. If that’s your idea of award winning wings I sure don’t know how you...
Read moreWe drove from New Bethlehem to try this place out. My husband and son love wings. And we saw they had an all you can eat wing and rib buffet, so we figured we'd give it a go. They absolutely LOVED it! All of the food was superb! My pot roast melted in my mouth. My daughter's chicken salad was literally the best I have ever tasted. My husband said the wing flavors were amazing. And the ribs were absolutely delicious, slow roasted, and smoky. Just perfect. My younger son got a cheeseburger and the little brand on the bun that said "got grub" was just the cutest! We ordered desserts and brought most of it home, but we just had to try them because they looked so good. And they definitely are. The Oreo chocolate cheesecake will make you willing to change Gods! And the portions of everything were huge. The slice of cheesecake was double the size of what most places give you. We had so much food we were about to bust and the price was comparable to any other restaurant. And those places don't give you that much food or give you good, home-cooked food either.
The staff are super nice and treat you like family. The atmosphere is quite homey. If you like small, family owned restaurants, you'll like this place. It's similar to the decor in Cook Forest.
Needless to say, even though it's over an hour drive, we will...
Read moreThis is a super cute, way of the beaten path gem. We were driving home from Ohio, and took the back roads instead of the thru way. I googled places to eat and came upon Country Grub. It's in the parking lot of a fairgrounds, but don't be discouraged by that. The food was excellent, very good portions and decent prices. My boyfriend got the Reuben sandwich, which he had had a ton of in his life, and he said this was one of of the best he ever had. I had the pot roast sandwich, which was also great. The desserts looked amazing, although we didn't try any as we were full from our dinner. The waitress was excellent as well. The owner Todd saw us walking out and asked how our meal was. He then noticed we had NY Plates and wondered how we stumbled across his place. We had a very nice chat, and he was appreciative of us giving his place a try. He told us about the fairgrounds and said that sometimes people come to eat, but the parking lot is full because of an event, but he usually has tables available inside, so if you want to try a great little place with excellent food, take a minute to check inside, even if the lot...
