I'll be honest when I pulled into the gas station for my BBQ dinner I was expecting the worst. What I got was the best BBQ food I've ever had. Being British the bar was low I admit, but my word the combination of quality, quantity and price made this stop the culinary highlight of my time in California and a much needed reminder of how great American food can be after my experience of hotel breakfasts.
