G’Ville Seafood N’ Chicken on 20th Street.
On Friday April 5th I went to Gainesville Seafood because I had a taste for fried 🐔 chicken livers. I heard that Gainesville Seafood had good chicken livers!😋 I was so excited and got a ride to Gainesville seafood on 20th Street. I was told that 1/2 a pound would be about $8💵 And that for $10 you can get about a pound. So I decided to get the full pound.
The people that I drove with went to another restaurant while I eagerly followed to get into this taste of these chicken livers! 😍😋 Because I was riding with themI had to go to the other restaurant But I would make sure that I buy something extra because I will be bringing in outside food to eat. *First taste; I was so eager to eat as I grabbed a big chicken 🐔liver and bit into it, it had a light to medium seasoning on it. The livers were NOT moist, looking at it did not look like a pattern of what a fried liver should look like, but it looked and seen as that they were overcooked and began to shrink a little. The order resembled lava rocks more than fried livers , I was shocked 😳 as I bit again into another dry liver. Description; outside part of the chicken liver was hard, dry and only as you got into the inner core did you find any firm moist flesh of the chicken liver.
I quickly ate some fries and washed it away with a drink, I thought that first liver was just a fluke.... let me try again.
I have / shared some to the person that was driving me ( second opinion) asked me for some livers and I eagerly shared some with them and when I bitten to the second liver it was the same as the first try. this one had a slight burnt taste. this was indicative that either the livers got overcooked or the grease had not been properly changed.
Okay I took in consideration that my order was called in at the end of the night. This gives a greater possibility of this type of situation happening. However there are several well-established ways of straining grease, changing grease and refreshing grease for restaurants that any reputable and experienced chef, manager or owner should know these techniques.
I called and left a message. it is now Monday, April 7th, 2025 and I have not received any communication from them at this time. *UPDATE: Monday April 21,2025...😫I HAVE NOT heard from management at all! I have called and left my...
Read moreI was looking for fried catfish in Gainesville and stumbled across G’ville Seafood and Chicken on 20th.
I ordered the 2-pc fried catfish plate with fried mushrooms and my friend tried the catfish plate with french fries.
Everything tasted like it was freshly fried to order. They have this lemon pepper seasoning that they dust the fish and fries with, which is optional. I’m still on the fence about it.
I thought the portions were generous for everything except the side of fried mushrooms. They were amazing, but you don’t get many.
They have a good sized menu. There’s flounder and tilapia if you don’t like catfish. They also have catfish nuggets, chicken wings, fried shrimp baskets, seafood boils, and more.
There’s no dining area or option to dine-in, so you should plan to take your meal to-go.
⭐️ 4/5 stars - I would definitely recommend visiting if you’re in the area. I know I will be stopping by again to try more of...
Read moreThis place is pretty cheap. I got the 3 mixed items platter with shrimp, chicken, and tilapia. It also comes with fries. It was a lot of food for not a lot of money. The food was good, but it was a bit soggy in my opinion. It was decent but not anything amazing. I’m not sure if they fixed it by now, but they had the wrong phone #. It was the phone # for their other location, so when they got there they said they didn’t have my order and I had to wait like 20 minutes. If you’re calling to order maybe ask what location you’re speaking to in order to avoid this happening. The workers in there were nice but my food took longer to come out than...
