The Hub — Restaurant in Galax

9/27. Had dinner here around 8pm. (They close at 8:30) No other customers there, I guess the rush was over. We found out seats and quickly received our drinks (VERY good sweet tea btw). Ordered our meal and received it pretty quickly too. The food was amazing, the service is phenomenal, the wait staff are all very friendly. Nice to see a restaurant provide this. Some ppl might complain about the prices, but with the quality and quantity of food and the level of service they just might be Galax's hidden Michelin restaurant. My wife chose the cheese burger w/ everything and onion rings as a side. Burger was cooked to perfection and the LTO were all very fresh. The onion rings were cooked perfectly, not greasy either. I had the grilled flounder (which tasted amazing), with my sides being fries and fried okra (which is a big serving btw) Overall experience was GREAT! It's close to home and is a great little place for a older gen x couple like ourselves to have a quiet dinner. Definitely will be eating here again. 9/20. First experience: We ordered our meal to go for 2 adults and 2 kids. We get home and open our boxes and the butter from both boxes with potatoes had busted open, and soaked our battered fish and popcorn shrimp. The popcorn shrimp plate was missing it's hush puppies, which I was excited for to begin with. The baked potatoes are over cooked. The kids liked their cheeseburger and tenders. Our battered flounder was soggy n slime y from the butter it soaked up..about half of the shrimp was still crispy.. The food was good, just a bad first experience..the butter and sour cream should be kept with the ranch in its own bag. That would have prevented it from melting and pouring out.

We will be back to try it again. Next time I'll just ask specifically not to put butter in box and to remind them to put my hushpuppies in:) I'm excited for galax to finally...

12/23/24: Now open Thursday thru Sunday. 10/26/24: Good Dixie style fish place and the only one like this in Galax. No frills but fresh fish well prepared. Very generous portion on the Salmon special, good flounder, excellent hush puppies. Very limited schedule (open three days a week) and also somewhat limited menu selections, primarily fish but what they serve is good.
