The food was fair. We had a meat skillet and hash and eggs. The meat was good quality. They serve hashbrowns now instead of home fries, a huge downgrade. The apple jelly was old and smelled musty. Service was friendly, quick, and accurate. We went in early Sunday morning and it wasn't too busy but, within ten minutes, the place was packed. You get better service if you're a regular. There is parking and an entrance on both sides of the building. It was decorated nicely for the holidays and the outside was freshly painted. Prices are okay and the menu has a good variety without being overwhelming. Breakfast is much better than any other meal. The interior was a bit worn. Booths have ripped seats, some of them all the way across. The bottles at the table were all dirty, which is concerning.

We were passing through town and looking for somewhere open at 6am and so glad we found this place! I will say the building is older so it smells a little off when you first walk in but don’t let that detour you from staying. The service was excellent and very attentive and the food arrived promptly and accurately. The waitress was so friendly and awesome about keeps drinks filled and making sure we had everything we needed! We had the tres cafe skillet and the French slam and both were great! The coffee was awesome as well! Perfect cup of diner coffee! Definitely worth the stop and feels great to support a local small business that knows how to treat a customer!

WARNING: This is NOT a joke, but rather a complaint against a local restaurant owner for unfair labor practices.

My family and I (5 of us altogether) recently ate at Tres Cafe (old Ike & Cheryl's, Markham's and A&W) located at 1135 Lincoln Street in Galesburg a couple of weeks ago. We had dined there on more than one occasion since relocating back to this area. The co-owner of the restaurant had taken our order and apparently did a very poor job at scribbling it down. My wife's drink order got messed up and her breakfast order was also not correct, resulting in her getting her order way after everyone else had received their food. In addition, everyone else's breakfast was pee-warm. At the end of our "dining experience", my father went up to pay the bill. My dad, who is 91, paid the bill without reviewing the meal cost breakdown and paid $91+ change (not including tip)...for 5 people! He later questioned the bill and went in to talk to the co-owner who waited on us. She indicated that the bill had already been sent over to their CPA, but she would get with them to review it, all the while stating that refills on drinks cost $2.35 each (no one had any refills, except for coffee, which there is no refill cost). Like a friggin' refill or two is going to make up a big difference. Sheesh.

Another week went by and he went back in to see if she had had a chance to review the bill. Nothing. Another week went by and he went back in and as soon as she saw him, she ducked into the kitchen area, so she wouldn't have to talk to him. He spoke with the waitress that usually waits on him, and he informed her of what happened. She felt bad, but all she could do was apologize.

I am asking everyone to spread the word and do not give this place any more business. These owners do not care about their customers,...

I’ve been thinking about this ever since the day it happened. October 23,2024 we came into your establishment was met by a very nice lady customer and one staff to help with doors as my husband is in a wheelchair, this staff lead us to table in the middle which in beginning was fine as it was around 1030-11a but you started getting busy and of course now we’re in the way of your other patrons heard them talking. we had 2 staff approach one for drinks than other for order which French toast was ordered for hubby he loves this is where I got upset as my husband was eating he started choking not ONE person but me ran to him to help or even remotely ask are you ok? People staring, owners along with 2 waitresses plus a guy waiting to clean tables all standing behind counter laughing it up. Still not one person even after I got him calmed came over to our Table. I was terrified but hey you all were laughing it up. I see things you do for community and what not great work but community work starts right in your establishment. We are part of this community lived here 55 yrs. Your work that day showed me it’s more about crowds and all the noticeably you get not about serving 2 people that may needed help. I paid our bill of $43 and will never step foot back into your establishment. I was very lucky that day he didn’t choke more than he did as you all didn’t care enough to ask! You can do all kinds of charities for newspapers but what you ALL chose to do that day is disregard...

I ordered the bone-in ham breakfast with scrambled eggs and I like my toast dark. Today the eggs appeared to be sunny side up, the toast was very dark on one side and barely toasted on the other. Now the bone-in ham was in reality just a piece of rectangular lunch meat, barely more than an eighth of an inch thick. I am from the farm so I know the difference between a piece of ham from a piece of pressed ham. I sent the eggs back and by the time they returned, the ham was cold, not luke warm, but cold. The waitress asked how things were and I complained. She took my complaint to the owner who then ignored it. The owner was working the cash register until I got there. She avoided eye contact and left the register to one of the wait staff. I am a regular customer there and don't appreciate being snubbed by the ownership. All in all, it is not a bad place to eat but recently they have begun to cut corners. Trying to pass lunchmeat off as a slice of bone-in ham is not a good way to start. Totally disappointed in today's experience and woulld rate today as a BLOOD MOON on the scale of 1 to 5...
